Broad Head performance,October 25, 2009
By Oldreturningarcherfrom Victoria Texas
"As a seasoned archer returning after a 7 year gap and focusing on cost the price of these heads appealed to me. I had a new bow and didnt wan to spend a fortune for broad heads. The configuration impressed me with a full cutting edges with heavy gauge thickness and perfectly aligned ground point.
I initially was dissipointed as the set up did not allow for blade alignment circumferentially, no orings in the package for fletch alignment. My initial shots proved not to reflect at all my field point results. The arrows flew consistently 5" high and right. As they were consistent I felt something was wrong. I believe this solid blade configuration with no cut out relief will magnify any tuning problem.
Took the bow back to the shop to ensure proper tuning and found the knock point slightly low.
Went back to the range and found these points flew consistently dead on with my field points.
The blade design mandates dead on tune. Shoots fine now we'll see how the peform in the woods."

Heavy duty broadheads, not like your field points.,July 19, 2009
By AlienHunterfrom Spanish Springs Nevada
"For me these were not an easy switch from field points. I am shooting a Diamond - The Rock at 55 pounds, 26" draw, using a Hostage rest, TruGlo sight and a Tru-Fire release. I'm shooting 25-1/2" Beman ICS BowHunter carbon arrows, with 3" vanes off-set 4 degrees that weigh in at 369 grains and are moving at 240 FPS. Switching from field points to the Liberty my arrows were hitting about five inches to the left at 20 yards but dead on vertically. After some research and checking my bow for tune, I adjusted my sight to the left and was soon shooting nice groups, even ruined an arrow, by sticking it right next to the first arrow, the blade of the second arrow took a strip about 1/8" wide right off my first arrow. I bought a dozen new arrows and had them fletched with 4" vanes and was once again shooting well to the left at 20 yards. After adjusting my sight again, I am now shooting very well at 20 - 50 yards with only my 60 yard shots left to try. I try not to shoot tight groups, so I don't ruin any more arrows. I just try to hit where I'm aiming. If I have an arrow that's not hitting where I'm aiming, I exchange it for a different arrow and try a few more shots. I now have five arrows that are hitting the target right where they should be. I found it helpful to shoot with no wind to get these sighted in. Once you add wind it's much harder to get consistant groups, but I have found that they are pretty accurate even in breezy conditions.
A lot of the reviews state that they fly just like their field tips, but I have not found that to be the case. There are many variables that come into play, the tune of your bow, the weight and speed of your arrows, type of vanes, etc. After doing a lot of research, I adjusted my sights and recorded the new sight settings, so that when hunting season is over I can put my field tips on and not have to go through the whole sighting in process all over again. If I get my deer next month I'll update my review. Who knows maybe I'll up my rating to five stars."

American Broadhead Company Liberty Broadheads,February 1, 2008

"I think this is the best of the American Broadhead line because of the slightly larger cutting area. It is my favourite for dear and I am using them on a Russian Boar hunt this year. We have been routinely killing 230 punders and so this will be a test for the broadheads. I'll let you know how it works. If it kills efficiently and bleeds the animal enough I'll change my rating to 5 stars."

Random Would Describe Them!,January 6, 2008
By TexasChuckfrom Seguin, Texas
"I really like the design of these heads and they are really tough. I shot them into a 1" thick piece of plywood and they did not break. I could not tune these broadheads. I shoot 7595's, 60 lbs with a 29" draw. It was completely random where they would hit. Thats why I know they are tough, they were off the target and into my plywood backboard. I would get 3 grouped well and decide to try one more set and they would be barely within the target. Compared to my field points these would plane about 8 inches high and to the right. And I say plane, because you could see the arrow fly. The blades lined up with my fletching, I tried offsetting them with same results. I tried eveything and could not get these to work. Others appear to have great success. I would keep your receipt if you purchase them."

Liberty Broadhead,September 16, 2007
By MikeB111from Pickens, SC
"I must admit I am impressed and still shoot the Sonic Pro broadhead, but this Liberty head was flying way crazy compared to the Sonic Pro. I will not be using this head! If a person desires the wider cutting heads, I recommend trying something else unless you're willing to work really hard to tune and test, tune and test! Good luck!"

1 Shot, 2 Kills!!,August 9, 2007
By Workdogmcfrom Midland, Texas
"Let me tell you how good these heads are.... I bought a new High Country Iron Mace last Friday, set it up, and starting tuning it Sunday after church. I shot field points, paper tuned and set my pins. My son and I had set up a ground blind earlier in the week for a little West Texas Hog hunt. I felt a bit rushed in my setup, but the Iron Mace was humming and shooting nice groups with field points at 40 yards. I normally always shoot my broadheads, as most group different than my points, but in a time crunch, I screwed on the 100 grain Liberty's and we headed out. At 5 till 7:00, a group of pigs came to the feeder. I picked out a nice BBQ pig, drew and let it go. I saw the arrow passed through the hog as she turned and ran under a fence, spraying blood from both sides. Almost immediately, I heard squealing and saw another pig with my arrow halfway through it!! After blowing through the first pig at 22 yards, the Liberty tipped Maxima Hunter had struck the pig standing directly behind it, and knocked it to the ground, breaking its spine in the process.
The first pig ran only 40 yds and the wound channels were so severe that it left a nice blood trail that was easy to follow. I cant wait to use these heads again, they are amazing. Unbelievable accuracy, and devastating pentetration...good enough to kill two hogs with one shot!!!"

Hog Hunter's Dream,July 2, 2007
By AKBearHunterfrom Kotzebue, AK
"Never shot a broadhead like it! Shaved vanes off other arrows with ease at the practice range, group just as well as field points. In the field.... Complete pass-through on a 200lb Oklahoma hog @ 20yds, bounced off the ground and stuck in a tree 35yds behind the hog! AMAZING!! Way to go American Broadhead Company! J.H. Kotzebue, AK"

Great broadhead!,November 28, 2006
By Rastusfrom Kathleen Ga.
"They perform as advertised! Very well constructed and sharp out of the package. I tend not to believe alot of advertising, but the only thing that hurts the accuracy of these broadheads is the shooters ability. The last broadhead I plan to buy!"

What Happened?,November 21, 2006
By kanedogfrom Hayward, WI
"I have read about their great flight, "zero plane technology" and accuracy. None of which happened when I added these to my arrows. I was not able to tune these broadheads and eventually became so frustrated that I took them off and decided these were not for me. I am not sure why these didn't work for me, but they simply did notlive up to their marketing hype."

True as Field Tips,November 20, 2006
By xrebfrom Star City,In.
"The Liberty Broadheads claim to fly as true as fieldtips.I found this claim to be untrue as I had to re -sight my bow as usual for the broadheads. However, once they were sighted in,they flew deadly accurate and had outstanding penetration. They even cut through the banding material that holds my target together without ruining the blade.A very tough broadhead, but you still have to adjust your sights to shoot them after shooting field tips. xreb"

Impressive,November 17, 2006
By fargofdfrom Northern Minnesota
"I tried the Liberty broadheads after reading about their flight in a magazine review this summer. I was very impressed with how they performed. I was even more excited in seeing how it shredded my Glen Dale Buck target during practice. During this season I killed and recovered a doe and a buck. The doe was arrowed broadside at 35 yards with a clean pass though shot in the heart. The entrance hole and exit hole was large and provided a very good blood trail. It ran about 40 yards and crashed. The buck was struck at 22 yards broadside with a clean pass through shot just above the heart. I watch the arrow fly right through the deer and instantly noticed large streams of blood pumping out of the buck as it bounded and died about 30 yards from my stand. Very large cuts from the broadhead! I will continue using these in the future."

Liberty Broadheads, 100 gr.,November 14, 2006
By Slickfrom Midland, PA
"I believe this is a good product and I indicated that I would recommend the broadheads to a friend but only after warning them that they may have tuning problems. I really like the three blade cut on contact and they did a great job on the deer. However, I found some inconsistency with the flight of my arrows."
