Good "starter" decoys,October 25, 2009
By pcg12from Mt.Vernon, IL
"if you are on a tight budget, then get these decoys. but if you have money to buy other ones, get other ones. carry-lite needs to come up with better ways to package these dekes. i opened the box and thought, man these look pretty good, i got the last 2 or 3 decoys and they were curled BAD. i got them uncurled though. and the stakes they give you are JUNK! i havent even hunted over these decoys and i went out and tried to set some up to see how they look and the stake broke. sorry for the long review, but also if you get these decoys be prepared to HATE the sentry heads. they look terrible. too much white on the front. so if you get them be prepared to buy some other sentry dekes."

Most for your Money,September 23, 2009
By DecoyPredator92from Milwaukee, WI
"These Carry-Lite Economy Canada Goose Shells are very impressive decoys for their price and will hail in geese from a long ways away. From afar these really look like a real flock of geese. The plastic shells are shaped to mimic the folded wing shape and have the pattern of feathers, giving it depth, which makes them look much more lifelike. They are realistically painted with a good blend between the colored spots to avoid any abrupt lines between colors, making it look more natural. The paint does not have the dreadful glossy coating that many competing decoys have which stand out unnaturally in the sun. Eight of the decoys have their heads down to the ground in a lifelike feeding position, while four others have their heads up as sentries which provide an authentic looking flock. To add to the authenticity, the decoys sway a little in the wind and give the decoy spread a small amount of lifelike movement. Although these decoys are great for their price, they do have some downsides in quality and durability. The decoys are stackable for easier storage but, after stacking a few times, some of the paint starts to chip off. This leaves small white spots placed randomly on them and makes the decoys look like they have spotted feathers. Another problem with stacking them uncarefully is that some of the decoys in the bottom of the stack can get misshapen and look deformed by dents. Also, the four sentries in the flock do not have high enough heads. There low hanging heads make them look almost too relaxed and may tip off wary geese. All of these problems threaten the authenticity of the spread, but most of them are preventable with extra care. Overall, these decoys are very true to life and are a good addition to any spread. They may not be the most lifelike but, for the price, there is no better option."

Great for the money,September 2, 2009
By LRF3from Palmyra, ME.
"I'm surprised these have not gotten better reviews.I've been hunting ducks on water in central ME. for 40 years and decided to take advatage of the increased number of geese in the potato fields of Aroostook county last season. My brother and I picked up 2 popup blinds,1 goose flag, and 4dozen of these deks and this blew the budget. We had our Goose limits 2 of the 4 days hunted along with2 Blacks and 4 mallards on day 2.This was the most fun I can remember on a waterfowl outing and I credit the success to these affordable Shells. They aren,t fancey but get the job done. We are heading back with this gear in 2 weeks and I can't wait."

These work fine,August 16, 2009
By wrrvncfrom Tonganoxie, Ks.
"No they are not the High dollar dekes but you are not paying high dollar, are you. The shell material is not rigid, but gently open one of the shells that was on the bottom and place some sort of block in the body (I cut some thin plywood into 2 inch pieces with notches on each side to put the edge of the shell in) to hold it open. Then restack the shells. All of your dekes will be useable when you take them out in the field. As for the stakes, take some rebar and a hammer to make the holes first. I use a 8 high dollar shells and full bodies with 2 dozen of these and 3 dozen socks and silo socks and I have 15 to 30 yard shots all the time. If you want to add bulk to your set without weight or loss of money, they work for me."

not too bad,August 16, 2009
By dacantleyfrom OH
"I've had these decoys a few years now and do not have too many problems with them, but I would like to see improvements.
#1 - Stakes need to be steel rather than plastic. If you live in a northern state or Canada, you WILL NOT push the stakes through ice. To solve that problem, i hammer a chisel through the frozen ground to make a hole big enough to put the stakes in. Although slower and annoying to do, it will get the job done.
#2 - The hole on top of the decoy needs to be stronger. After a while, the hole the stake goes through will be worn down and you will have decoys falling right off the stake. To solve that problem, i drilled a hole an inch from the top of each stake and put a nail through it once the decoy is set. Problem solved.
No, these are not the top of the line best decoy on the market, but when you are on a tight budget, they will get the job done and bring birds within shooting range. I also like how they stack neatly on top of one another. To get them in the field, I simply string them on a rope and carry them over my shoulder. Works very well."

Not worth your money,August 5, 2009
By schmuck
"These shells are Terrible! If you buy a box of a dozen you will have two decoys or so that look decent. The rest due to stacking are permanently curved in on the bottoms right out of the box. The bottom few look like gray footballs with heads on them. The stakes are really flexible which makes it tough to get them in the ground. You may think your getting a deal by getting these for cheap, but you are basically throwing your money away. After seeing these in your spread once you won't want to use them again."

Get what you pay for,July 29, 2009
By GanderPatrolfrom PA
"You will likely not be happy with these decoys. When my friend got them out of the packaging, the ones toward the bottom of the box were bent in and the bottoms were basically touching each other. They also do not look good if they are mixed with high quality decoys.
The plastic stakes do allow for movement in the wind, but they are bad stakes and easily bend or break. You also can't get them in the ground during cold weather.
Spend the extra money and get a decoy that will last you for years to come and actually will fool pressured birds.
I've hunted over these decoys when I was invited to hunt with other people, but they will never be in one of my spreads."
