"Don't know what the problem is/was with the heads. Rigged and put the heads on mine in a poorly lit parking lot while my son was in hockey practice. Paint is holding up so far (kept in a mesh bag and carried to walk in and impound blinds."

GHG PG Mallard Acitves,

By RAINNSTEEL

"Simply the best on the market, price, and look wise. Second to none as far as anotomically correct. Gives a different look to your spread and the swivel head is a huge plus. Few would argue if you wanted to place the hen on the wall.
Yes! You will have some paint rubbing off as all decoy brands do. Decoys are meant to be hunted over and put through harsh conditions. Most of the scuffs my decoys have recieved are from me placing them in a mesh bag and walking over 600 yds of swamp to get to my spot."

"these decoys are great!! there heads went on pretty well with a little push and twist. there color schemes and texture was amazing. i bought a half dozen of them and planning to buy more. last week i hunted with only my half dozen and i had more ducks work then any other time this year. there paint has held up very well so far and i dont keep them in seperate compartments, ther're all put in one bag. in my point of view they are the best decoys on the market for the price."

Great Decoys,
October 21, 2009
By LongFin08

"These Decoys Look Amazing!! I was really worried about ordering them after reading all these people saying the heads are sooo hard to get on and that the plug you have to put in before you attached the head seemed like a huge deal and i didnt know if i wanted to have to assemble all of that. DONT listen to them!! I put the heads in the freezer for a while to let them shrink and made sure the bodies were warm, i put vaseline around the head and the hole were they go in and POP they went right on NO problems. I order a dozen and a half it really only took about 15 min by myself to have them done. They look amazing on the water and when you put them next to your decoys you have now your going ask yourself why did i buy those in the first place, They look like fisher price series deocys !! Would love to own another dozen and a half!!!! GET THESE!!!"

Draws in the ducks!,

By NVHNTR1

"I was skeptical about these decoys after reading the reviews. I purchased six and had them together in about 10 minutes. I did use a little liquid car wax to grease the heads. They look great, and really drew in the mallards on opening day. I will be getting another 1/2 dozen."

"First off, the look of these decoys are great. The bad thing is the design of the heads. Like many others, i spent a very lok time trying to get the hen heads on. These will be going back to the store today."

Amazing Decoys!,
September 19, 2009
By SWANLAKEduckslayerMN

"Everyone here has been complaining about the heads not working the way they should but its not that hard. I had 2 packs of these decoys put together in less than a 20 minutes. Use plumbing grease or something similar because using water and soap seems pointless. The heads popped right on and move around just fine. I dont have any trouble with them falling of or getting stuck. Cant wait to get out there and see them bring the ducks in!"

GHG Actives,

By Fowlkiller

"The drakes and hens look good. Paint seemed good. The heads were difficult at best to get on all of them. The drakes went on finally and stayed ok. The hens would go on and pop off. Ended up gluing them on to get them to stay. Bad design."

Dont Buy,

By quack1089

"First of all GHG is know for good decoys I am very pleased with the look of this decoy however it is not worth buying them. i Bought one dozen Active Pack and only eight heads need to be put on we tried everything we could think of to get them on and nothing worked i called GHG and they told me to follow the tips on how to put them on and none of their tips worked, even tired freezing the heads to shrink them a little that did not work so long story short, 2 guys, 8 decoys heads to be put on, and 5 hours later, decoys will be going back to store"

look pretty, heads dont fit though,
September 12, 2009
By cantshoot

"received a half dozen of these as a gift. the heads on the hens would not go on. trimmed up the burs and whatnot and they stayed on as long as you didnt try to swivel it. broke down and eventually glued the hens' heads on. one of the hens also had an air leak where the wing feathers overlap near the tail. this piece is held on by a screw so i tried tightening the screw but there is no way you can get a screwdriver on in(i dont even understand how they did it in the factory). i decided to pack caulk down around the screw and that worked. this is the first problem i have ever had with GHG since they got rid of snap lock keels though."

Very realistic,

"All I can say about these decoys is wow! These are truely great looking decoys. The only problem with them is the heads. They are very hard to get on. But if you cut off a little of the larger part they go on easier and stay on, but be careful you don't over cut it or else wen u try to swivel it it comes off. But overall I cant wait to try these out in the field. I think they are extremely realistic and think the number of ducks we get this year will increase."

do not buy,
August 28, 2009
By downnnorthcarolina

"I only bought one pack of just a half dozen, and within ten minutes of attempting to put them together, realized it was a waste of money. I cleaned off the paint, cleared off any burs on the plastic, tried soap and all, not worth the hassle. If its this big of pain standin on the porch imagine standin in waste deep water battling these things, will be sending back and trading out for the feeders, unless they have a head that moves, I will say the pro-grade greenwing teal look great and would recommend them."

GHG Pro-Grade Active Mallards,
August 22, 2009
By Sportsman208
from Mississippi flyway
|
"I have bought hundreds of decoys and these active mallard decoys were a big disappointment. It took me 6 hours of serious effort, some soap and a blow dryer just to put the heads on 12 active decoys. The 4 remaining two-piece decoys could not be put together at all because the heads and bodies simply did not fit together. (shipped in 2 pieces) The hens' heads do not fit the bodies and were of poor quality. These have a little nicer paint than some other decoys but are not worth the additional trouble. Several of the keels were angled at least 15 degrees off center. The Cabela's Real-Image decoys are a much better bargain by comparison - - unless you prefer your decoys without heads."

Far from "Pro Grade",
August 21, 2009
By UNAPPROVED
from Kansas City
|
"Packaging on the GHG Active half dozen looks phenomenal. Too bad the experience stops there. GHG has been known to make great products, but the swivel heads on these decoys are far from thought through. They're supposed to "snap" on, much like the old weighted keels that they no longer mold seperately. I now know why. The heads do not snap on as suggested in the install instructions. The head looks like it seats all the way on the body, but two or three turns and off it comes. I can't imagine fumbling through the decoy bag before shooting time trying to find the lost heads. They're going back and I'll either purchase last years dozen with fixed heads (which now cost 15% more than last years price for no apparent reason) or head to Final Approach for their decoys."
