The rectangular, 28-qt. pot is large enough to fry an 18-lb. turkey or as many as four chickens. It has a cover and a drain rim to reduce splashing and a spigot for easy draining. The rectangular 33,000-BTU output cooker has a recessed top for safety. Includes two baskets for cooking two different batches of food at the same time. The unit is also great for simmering large batches of chili, soup or stew. Includes a rack, steam tray and four skewers for steaming; a deep-fry thermometer; and a UL-listed LP hose and regulator with a TYPE ONE connection for use with a standard liquid propane cylinder (not included). Due to new CSA regulations, any turkey fryer manufactured after 7/31/2007 must be equipped with a safety shut-off device to prevent overheating of the oil. This fryer comes with a timer-type shut-off device that is built into the hose and regulator. It requires the operator to reset the timer every 10 minutes, or the gas flow will automatically shut off. For outdoor use only. Weight: 45 lbs.

Beats and old cast iron frying pan,December 9, 2009
By ConservativeManfrom Jacksonville, NC
"This is a excellent deep fryer, that heats up a 35lb jug of creamy shortening frying oil in about 20 minutes. Once frying temp. is achieved burner puts out a constant and controllable heat, that I didn't have to fiddle with to maintain a even 325-350 degrees. The safety switch isn't really that big a deal, and during the heat up phase, it comes in handy if one should become sidetracked, and let time get away with them. Keep in mind that the a complete 35lb jug of oil will go over the fill line by about an inch, which isn't an issue if you don't load up the fryer to capacity."

King Kooker, bad timer,August 11, 2009
By stlouisbobfrom St. Louis
"I bought the king kooker and immediately had problems with the "safety" feature of the timer. It is a hassle to continually reset it to keep the fryer operating. We often cook for hours and remembering to hit the plunger every 5 minutes is troublesome. If you do not reset the timer, it shuts the whole thing down. Save yourself the hassle and buy the regulator and hose without the government-imposed "safety" feature directly from King Kooker. I am a grown man and can run the cooker without burning my house down. The cooker does a good job and it is pretty easy to keep the temperature where you want it. We have done fish, turkeys, french fries and breaded pork cutlets, all with good results."
