Winnipeg approved,November 15, 2009

"Took this heater out ice fishing on Lake Winnipeg last February - did a very good job. Used in a smallish portable canvas-walled ice house, it did a good job of keeping the internal temperature above freezing while the outside temps were as low as -20F. In these conditions, however, a single portable propane tank just doesn't get it done - I ended up buying the long rubber hose (not the green neoprene version - they seem to crack much more easily that the black rubber at those temperatures) and attaching it to a 20lb propane cylinder which I left outside the house. I wouldn't suggest using it without ventiliation in an enclosed space. Heading over for another trip this coming February, and this heater is a required peice of equipment. 4 stars because the tip-over shut-off switch is overly sensitive, and the grill on the front is far too flimsy."

Very good and easy to use,November 7, 2009

"I have had this for over a week now. Works well, lights up real fast. I am using it for heating a room which is 14 x 14 x 10. With outside temps being at around 40 degrees, it takes 10 minutes to heat up the room pretty good. After about 30 minutes you need to turn it off as it will get hot."

"Ok so the disclaimer says designed for 7000 or below. Well I don't know how it works for everyone but on Elk Hunts in NM in weather ranging from snow, sleet rain and temperatures in the low teens in a 9 X 12 dome tent at 10,000 plus, this thing not only still works you have to keep turning it off because you get to warm. The science says be prepared for substandard performance but I never read the disclaimer."
