We took our legendary Guidewear® fabric and combined it with a PrimaLoft zip-out liner to create one of the toughest, warmest jackets we have ever made. The shell is ultratough, 500-denier, 100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX. The warm-as-down PrimaLoft liner is compressible, breathable and water-repellent. The Jacket has two handwarmer pockets and one chest pocket to stash your valuables in. A three-panel, adjustable hood provides a bad-weather barrier for you when it gets nasty outside. Adjustable cuffs also keep wind and water away from your skin. The liner has two handwarmer pockets and one chest pocket for storage. A drop-tail on the liner adds protection from the elements by covering lower extremities. Imported.

"The only reason I can't give this coat a full 5 star rating is in the details. To be truly fantastic and I do love the coat - it needs just two small alterations:
1.) Add gussets to the sleeves/shoulder area so the coat does restrict reaching above the shoulder.
2.) Add a large basket type pocket to the liner on the right side for other goodies like GPS, tools or whatever else I may decide I need in the woods. I tend to carry light but the additional pocket would negate the need to carry an additional bag or stuff my exterior pockets with goodies.
This coat or jacket is a replacement for another well known brand that didn't last two winter before falling apart. I suspect I will be wearing this coat for many happy years. I'm just notoriously hard on outer wear. Still I am very happy with the purchase and would easily do so again!"

"This jacket offers excellent protection against the wet, snowy and cold weather here in Canada. However, the only issue is that the liner is not Prima Loft 1, as advertised, but Prima Loft Sport. Aside from that, I wear it every day and it keeps me warm and dry. #1 quality"

"I haven't had my parka out in nasty weather yet, but it seems to be very sturdy. The little extra length is a nice feature as well as the inside pockets. As others have said, the zipper could be a little more heavy duty. Size wise, go with the large if your on edge between large/xlarge. Overall this is a nice coat and with the 500 wt cordura it is heavy duty, Im sure it will last a long time."

"Good jacket over all. But heavy, no pit zippers for ventilation, hood gets in the way would be nice to have the hood fold or unzip. ITs also very noisy when hunting. Also the liner inside should be netted for better breathing and not solid fabric. The insulating layer was very nice also wish it had pit zips since they are need when back pack hunting for 7 or more miles in colorado or alaska. I did return the jacket and bought a different one that is quiet, lighter, hood does not get in the way and jacket is not stiff. I would recommend this product depending on what you will be doing for hunting or scouting is not very good."

"This parka's fabric is extremely wind-, water- and abrasion-resistant. Pocket placement is great, with additional upper pockets hidden under protected flaps. The PrimaLoft liner is extremely compressible and is just as warm as goose down.
However, I had to give this parka 4 stars because of the main zipper. Although it does the job, it should be larger and more durable. It's puzzling why Cabela's chose to use the same 500-denier fabric as the Guidewear parka, but not keep the larger zipper."

Stiff, but holds true to Wind Proof, heavy, but you can tell the material is truly durable.

"Just bought this parka that I'd been "eying" for some time. I have not been disappointed! I was able to use it ice fishing shortly after my purchase. Northern Michigan winters can get a little brutal but the parka was up for the task. It broke the wind beautifully and I was warm for the day on the ice. The fabric is a little stiff ( I assume it will "break in" over time). This is a purchase I plan on using for many many decades. Excellent quality and very functional."

"I wanted a waterproof, warm parka system for outdoor work (snow blowing, etc.) and play (winter photography) up here in the great white north. This fills the bill. Very waterproof, and with the PrimaLoft liner, very warm, and styling is great (pockets are mostly hidden behind weather flaps). Size fits me well (a 3XL is a 3XL). Feels like it should last a long time. My only "suggestion" would be to make the shell more flexible. I'm sure it will break in over time, but when new, it is very stiff. This was the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars. Another great product from Cabela's!"

"It is to bulcky, the material is not very flexible, it is not that warm as i expected, i went to denmark and it was only 34 degrees F, the zipper does not work as it should , it's really to small, it is good if its raining because you dont get wet, but if i could turn back time i definitely would buy another one."

"I would have given the product five stars except for the zipper. Its difficult to opeerate. Its one thing to operate the zipper while the garment is on a hanger and another when wearing the garment when your hands are cold, you are wearing a bulky sweater or its dark. The zipper difficult to close (attach) when putting on the garment because of the overlapping fabric and the fact that the zipper mechanism and the tracks are small. The jacket needs a larger or heftier zipper that can be attached in the dark, when your hands are cold etc."

"I work out in the field every day and this parka was worth more than I paid! The rugged exterior stands up excellent and is a great wind break. The interior is very warm although I would never wear it seperatly.(when you zip it out and wear it alone the metallic gray color looks like something Micheal Jackson would wear. The first day i wore this is was 40 deg. out and the wind was blowing 30-40mph and I was still warm! Thoroughly impressed!"
