Blue Fluted Barrel,October 11, 2009
By hjsmith35from Sand Point, Alaska
"I just installed the Shooter's Ridge blue fluted barrel on my 10/22 carbine. The installation was easy and the barrel looked good with the Hogue overmolded stock that I installed as well. I took it to the range and had some ejection issues that I never had before with the factory barrel. I then noticed that I didn't have the ejector pin lined up properly with the groove on the new barrel, after a little re-alignment everything was fine. I was shooting dime sized groups at fifty yards. I would recommend this product for anyone wanting to improve their 10/22. Just make sure you pay attention during assembly.

Shooter's Ridge 10/22 barrel,August 18, 2009
By BillW54from Roanoke, VA
"I must say that the fat barrel looks nice in my original 10/22 stock. What they did not tell me in the installation instructions is that it would be a bit of a pain in the "neck" to remove the original barrel, that I would have to pry, pull, cajole and curse the barrel's ancestors to get it to come out of the receiver. Perhaps that disclosure would prevent the hobbyist from attempting the new barrel installation but I would have liked to hear that the old barrel would not just fall out of the receiver when the barrel block was removed. After all, I was a newby who had never removed a rifle barrel... Well, I got the new barrel installed and, as I said in the beginning, it looks nice in its new home. I painted the barrel flutes blue to match the paint I used on the stock. I have not shot the 10/22 yet because I had a bit of indecision regarding my choice of scopes but I have a Leupold and rings on order and I will have to get some sling swivel studs to put on my bargain basement Ruger stock. I do have faith that the resulting compilation of parts will group better than I can hold but since I have not shot it yet, I reserve the 5 star rating."
