Conquest boots are not rugged at all,February 18, 2010
By Breakaway500from Oakham,Massachusetts
"This is the third year I have worn these boots (not every day). The first winter season was good, and the boots performed well.I use them mostly for snowy days walking the dogs, about 2 miles a day. This year, the boots have developed 1-2" cracks/tears where the boot flexes and meets the leather on each boot. They have never received rough use and only for walking in snow or cold weather..no brush etc. Pretty poor performance in my book.I will email Sorel, but I won't hold my breath for restitution. Thumbs down for durability.Maybe if you don't use them much, they may last longer, but what good is a boot in your closet?"

ok till it rains,January 13, 2010
By AnnandFrankfrom grass valley, ca
"I wrote to Sorel about these, the rubber and leather are water resistant, the tongues aren't. I was in a light rain and the tongues worked like sponges. Sorels comment was 'they aren't waders.' Other than that, they are decent enough."

Great boots!,October 6, 2009
By Madhousefrom Maine
"First let me say that I am extremely hard on boots. I have big flat feet and spend a ton of time outdoors working and playing. I've been throught a bunch of brands trying to find a perfect fall/winter boot that was tough, waterproof and warm without too much bulk. These Sorel Conquests definately fit the bill. They're comfortable and dry without much more weight than a summer hiker. I've had mine for a couple of years. I've put them through the ringer and they actually still look pretty good. The only minor knock would be that the ankle support strap doesn't seem to do a whole lot. Trust me, you're going to love these boots."
