"I was looking for an insulating layer for the cold stand days that wouldn't add too much bulk. Looked at all the vests cabelas had to offer... this was an easy choice. Perfect insulating layer, warm as you'll need, no bulk and cut perfectly. Used base layer under armor cold gear, mid layer legacy fleece/wind shear 1/4 zip, this vest as the unsulator and the Whitetail Extreme parka... perfect combination that can be taken on and off to fit the conditions."

"I ordered this vest to layer under my camo for those colder sits in the blind or treestand, just as its intended.
So far I love it, it seems to be quite well constructed and it is very warm. It is also very lightweight and quite packable as advertised.
I initially ordered the same product but in the full jacket instead of the vest - one thing to keep in mind is that for a layering piece you don't want too much bulk. I ordered the jacket in a large and found it just a bit on the big side (I am 5'11" and about 205 lbs), so I ordered this vest in medium and it fits perfectly - not tight and not too much bulk.
