DOESN'T WORK AS STATED,November 20, 2009
By KNIGHTrflesfrom VERMONT
"I wouldn't recommend this item, it is terrible. It will not weigh at low weights and says it will go from 1 ounce to 150 lbs, not true. Not to mention it goes in 2 ounce increments and says it goes in 1. One of the worst items I have ever purchased from cabelas, not the quality I have come to expect from the items they sell."

Great scale,November 18, 2009
By HunterD1
"The Open Country 150 pound scale worked great for us. It was my addition to our family hunting camp this year. We used it to process 4 of our deer.
Some of the features I liked were: The zero/tear button so you can place a container on top of the scale and then hit the button and it starts at 0 again which was a nice feature.
The digital read out had a long cord and mounting screws so we mounted the control up above our cleaning table which made it easy to read and it stayed clean. Also the display lights up (blue) when you use it, which is nice and makes it easy to read.
The platform for weighing is about 1 foot square and sets about two inches off the ground which made it easier to use than our old clock face scale that it replaced.
It cleaned up easily because the top is stainless steel.
It was accurate, we used it to weigh tubs with anywhere from 2 pounds to 35 pounds. When I first tried it, I weighed a tub with a hind quarter and removed it, I hit 0 and weighed it again and it read the same down to the oz each time.
We didn't try it with very small weights (less than one pound) so I can't speak to how accurate it is for weighing very light objects.
For the price, I think this was a very good addition to camp."

Scale description not accurate,October 28, 2009
By j11pfrom Eastern Colorado
"Scale seems to work fine, but won't weigh accurately at low weights. Also claims to weigh in 1 ounce increments, but mine would only show in 2 ounce increments. Not accurate enough when weighing spices for meat mixtures, etc."

open country digital scale,July 23, 2009

"We used our new scale while butchering our last bunch of chickens. The ease and acuracy was everything we had hoped for. I later found a similar scale that goes to 300 pounds. Not knowing if it is as acurate as the one we have, we are going to stay with it as most of our weighing will be 50 pounds or less and this scale goes to 50 pounds. I do recommend it to hunters, fisherman, and trappers who want accurate weights. Tom"
