A hard shooter, and a keeper,February 8, 2009
By iatrophyfrom Cedar Rapids, Ia
"The short design and cool aesthetics of this bow make it a great bow to own and shoot. I had to build strength to shoot the 65lbs draw repeatably with good form; would recommend lighter lbs for the less hardcore. But now I cant shoot it enough, and enjoy watching the arrows fly straight, fast, and hit hard. The bow is noisy out of the box, but cat whiskers helped that dramatically. Cant wait to hunt with it."

Miss the old Kodiak Magnum,January 16, 2008
By fullfreezerfrom MD
"The new KM is now FF compatible, but generates twice the noise of the old KM. Even after adding quality string silencers, felt in the string grooves, and shooting a 650 grain arrow, my new KM is still too loud to hunt with. The new grip was my biggest disappointment. The throat of the grip has been cut down like it was made for a child and it gets pretty uncomfortable after a few arrows. The old KM were also much better-looking with their distinctive white overlays. I guess this is what happens when you try to improve upon a classic"

She's a Beaut,January 3, 2008
By Uplandfrom Murrieta, CA
"This bow is absolutely beautiful. I was torn between the Super Kodiak and Kodiak Magnum at #55. As a traditional bow hunter, I wanted a bow that had maximum power, without compromising look and feel. I had tested the Super Kodiak in person, loved it, but it was a pretty large bow. I called Bear Archery, asked them a bunch of questions, to where I finally concluded that there was no difference in performance and power between the two, just the Kodiak Mag was 8" shorter, with no compromise. I purchased the Kodiak Magnum at 55# and I love it! A great performer! Bear Archery engineers such a fine product."

Wow!!!!,October 24, 2007
By Froz
"This is a outstanding bow, and of very good quality. The draw is pretty stiff at 55 pounds but good enough to get the job done. The bow is small and compact so if you tend to hunt grouse or deer in the brush it's what you wnat to use. Much less likely to become snagged on brush or cause unwanted noise."

good bow,October 8, 2007
By jimh280
"This is a good bow it is much faster than any recurve I have owned. Do yourself a favor DON'T buy a bow from one of these" back yard buisness bow makers" I did and made a huge mistake. You get what you pay for. I went with Bear because of its name and my only regret is that I did not do it sooner. Again great bow " power and speed in a compact size""

Kodiak Magnum Recurve,June 9, 2007
By MRFranksfrom Northern California
"I bought this bow, in the 55# model, for hunting deer and wild pigs here in Northern California. I shoot this bow--barebow. It took some work to find the right combo of arrow, nock point and rest. Initially, I tried to shoot the bow off the shelf, but found it shot inconsistently with all types of arrow--aluminum, carbon and wood. On a hunch, I swapped out the rug rest for a stick on rest and started the process of tuning the bow. I found that did the trick. It shoots especially well with aluminum, and carbons with weight tube inserts. The arrows get a swift push from the fast flight string. Although I've not chronographed my arrows--they fly like a frozen rope. String slap on the limb tips is not an issue as long as one uses brush buttons or puts moleskin on the face of the limb which bears the string nock. The bow is very quiet to shoot and very consistent with my tuning setup. My wish is that Bear produce this bow with a stabilizer bushing so as to allow a bowfishing unit to be added without the use of tape or adhesive. All in all, I give this bow five stars."
