Not verstaile for a NE Hunter,November 4, 2009
By cazhunterfrom Central New york
"I've been looking at the Scent Control upper end systems for several years now and finally took the plunge. I felt that the Freak Nasty Series was going to be my answer. I should have read the product description a little better, but thats my fault. On the the review: First off, I was surprised how light weight the jacket and pants are. When I opened the box, I commented to my son , that it was just 1 of the pieces and not both. It was both. As a plus they are extremely comfortable and a pleasure to wear - although , so are sweat pants and pajamas. They provide no warmth or wind protection on their own - again, not a problem for early bow season where temps are often in the 50s and 60s. On a 20 degree morning, you better layer properly- which I do. Additionally, they offer no water repellency at all. My first time in a tree stand, the seat was the pad type and had gotten wet. Usually with my past gear, not a problem. The Freak Nasty pants soaked up water like a Bounty Paper Towel. I was soaked through in a matter of a minute. Once again, the product description makes no mention of water resistance so this is not a flaw to the garment. Here in the Northeast, rain and wet conditions are more common than not. So for me this system isnt what I need. One other matter to mention, the wrist ratchet strap on one side broke the first time I pulled on it with mild pressure. The wrist cuff is snug enough that it was not a big deal, but it was annoying because of the price of this jacket. Cabelas is great and Ive returned the jacket and pants and have ordered the Scent Blocker Outfitter series."

WHY WHY WHY???,October 18, 2009
By carlson77from Erie PA
"Shot two deer so far this year in Ohio, one buck and one doe, both downwind from me and never knew I was there. All of the other reviews I agree with, comfortable, well placed pockets, quiet, room. Here is the one HUGE problem I have with the jacket and pants, water goes through it as though it isnt even there! For the price next time I will go for something that is at LEAST water resistant. With the rain during hunting season in the north east this is a must. Sat in my stand after rain the other day and the suit picked up water like bounty paper towel. Considered trying to treat with water repellent but dont want to hurt the carbon characteristics. Gave it a couple months of use before writing this review but really driving me crazy now!"

Pricey but worth the money,October 6, 2009
By Lt10cfrom South Central PA
"The Freak Nasty pants and coat are well worth the money. They fit extremely well and are very comfortable to hunt in. They are lightweight for early season but appear to well suited for layering. Plenty of pockets in both pants and jacket. Camo pattern and the scent blocker do the job. Deer walking directly under my stand. I would buy these again without hesitation."

This is the best bow hunter jacket on the market!,September 9, 2009
By kklhfrom Pueblo, Colorado
"I think the brotherhood of the bone collectors are right this is the bad boy of the scentblocker line. I have the road trips, the outfitter, and most all the base layers. I also have almost all the accesories plus the S3 Archery shirt, and this is the best technical archery jacket made. The versitility is unbelievable especially when you have the outfitter jacket, and can use the windproof vest in the freaky nasty jacket. You can go from 75 degrees to minus 25 windchill with the proper layering. If you dont have the outfitter jacket buy the freaky nasty vest it's a must. I love the roomyness yet a taylored fit. Eight pockets help you to carry numerous items to a turkey, or pronghorne blind, then up the mountain for elk in september, or to a treestand in late november. This is an all season jacket. Another great item is the silent wrist wratchet. If your a serious bow hunter than step up to this unbelievable high tech jacket you can't go wrong. This is a total knockout by Scentblocker, and the bone collector trio."

Freak Nasty Jacket,August 18, 2009
By CurtGfrom Pennsylvania
"This jacket is well thought out. As a bow hunter, I desire practicality. And pockets are practical. This coat has loads of pockets and fits like a glove; with the draw strap in the waist area. I tried this coat on along with other comparable coats and it just stood out. I had actually planned on purchasing the Vertigo, but after trying on both, the Freak Nasty was hands down more appealing."

"I really liked the jacket. Got it for father's day. But had to return it due to one of the wrist straps was broken. So, I hope when I do get it back I like it."
