Not worth it,November 17, 2009
By rrnjrfrom New Hampshire
"I bought this sight two months ago for a bow hunting upgrade. The first thing I found was that It wouldn't line up without putting a spacer under it prior to installing to move it over 1/2"otherwise I couldnt adj. far enough left. 2nd the pins dont adjust properly up and down. The micro adj is really sloppy. adj changed after a day of shooting and had to re adj. I gave my old sight to a young kid so now I am stuck with one. I have been shooting a bow for a long time and for the money this is the worst sight I have used."

Best sight i have tried.,October 21, 2009
By DCGSPfrom California
"Wanted to try this sight so i could practice at longer yards and at the same time not have a ton of pins in my sight. Used this to replace a Spot-Hogg sight and will never go back. Great quality, bright pins(compared to spot-hogg) very light. Mounted it on my Diamond Stud bow and was able to get 90 yards, yes 90 yards out of the floating pin. Very nice to practice at longer yards, makes short shots a breeze. Even used a label maker and all weather label tape to put yardage marks on the dial, worked great."

I would recoment this product to a friend,October 13, 2009

"I must say that hands down this is one of the best sights on the market. The market on the other hand is out of control. If indeed you can afford to hunt these days and stay ahead of the game then this is the sight for you. keep in mind that these sights are created for up to date bows. If for some chance you can not sight this in then you might want to check your equipment. I know myself that if you bow is slow then it could be hard to sight in the upper pin as you can not get it high enough. That being said I have had the sight for two seasons and since I learned how to set up my own equipment Correctly its simple and dead nuts from any pin."

Top of the line,September 29, 2009
By Boonerblasterfrom The legendary Buffalo County WI.
"This sight is one of the highest quality sights on the market. mounting is easy and with the quick baseline pin adjustment charts sighting in is a breeze. This sight will turn your bow into a tack driver. The G5 optic XR give you the best of both worlds with 3 fixed pins and one long range floater. This sight is top notch."

Not that Happy,September 19, 2009
By jnuz65
"Hey fellow hunters. I hooked up my sight about a month ago on my Mathews bow. Mounting it was easy, but sighting it in wasn't. At first I was bullzeye from 10, 20, 30 yards. The second time I shot it I was high. So I'm going to try it one more time. I hope it was me that day. Trying to set up the floating pin is hard too."

Great Product Everything you need in one!,September 14, 2009
By Deerhunter88us
"I bought this product to go along with my new Mathew's reezen, it's the perfect set up with 3 fix pins and one floater. it gives you the three permanent pins unlike a floating pin so if that deer walks closer you don't gotta adjust but yet if that deer steps out past 50 yards you got 1 pin that can turn in to about 2-3 pin's just by turning the knob. Also if you have a hard time seeing the pin's at night there is a light option you can buy to make it light up. It's the best sight I've come across. Only thing i would say negative about it is it seems a lil forward heavy makes my bow wanna lean forward real hard which makes it hard to told up while target practicing."

Sight pens,September 10, 2009
By Floridaprohunterfrom Lake City, FL
"The smallest pins available on the XR are a must... Only problem I had- I could not adjust the pen high enough and I had to reset my peep sight so that I could use my 10/20 yard pen. The older G5 model's pins were able to adjust to the proper height without moving the peep sight."

G5 Optix XR,September 10, 2009
By dhjfrom St. Jacob, IL
"Overall I am happy with the product, however it had a vibration noise that was hard to track down. The hybrid pin has a screw (triangle shaped head) that holds it in line (stops it from moving horizontally) with the other pins when you make adjustments for distance. The nut on the inside of the housing had come off. Once we figured it out, it was fairly easy to remove the 3 housing screws to get to it.
I have a feeling my troubles were a fluke since otherwise the product seems top notch."

optix xr,August 22, 2009
By stagnerfrom Colorado
"This sight is the best I have ever used. And I have gone through a lot. Constructed to stand up to the abuse that bowsights go through. It is an excellent design and very lightweight. I can't think of one single thing to say negative about this sight. At first I was a little timid about the price, but after using it for the last year I believe it was worth every penny. As far as setting it up and sighting it in it was a piece of cake, shortest sight in session I've ever had, even the floating pin was almost too easy. Absolutely love the hybrid pin design, best idea I have seen for an all around target/hunting bow setup. This thing is rock-solid precision."

Great product,July 29, 2009
By DADDYMACfrom Mississippi
"I found this sight to be very easy to setup, the only catch is you must chronograph your arrows to setup the sight as directed. You set pin gap by a setup sheet, my rig shoots 277fps I set my gap by the 275fps template then used the windage and elevation knobs to set the 20 yard pin and presto, the 30, 40, & 50 yard pin were dead on.(no tweeking)After installing the 275fps yardage sticker for the floating pin I steped dack to 60 yards dialed it in and bam, right on. The .019 pins are easy on my fuzzy 46 year old eyes, I also use the pin light and I found it a little bright for my taste, but a few minutes with a sharpie shading the lense solved the problem. I did install a small limb saver and I have no noise trouble at all, this sight is a top quality product that I would recommend to anyone for there hunting rig."

G5 Optix XR,June 28, 2009
By COBearfrom Colorado
"I found the G5 Optix XR to be a huge disapointment. The floating pin is hard to set up, and is not compatable with the archers advantage software. It is extremly loud with huge vibration that will loosen the many set screws rapidly. In an attempt to quiet the sight by tightening the screws it broke. Not worth the money. On a good note the micro adjustments for the three fixed pins are nice and the 3rd axis adjustment and the sight basics seem pretty good."
