Wildcats - Super,
March 8, 2010
By TomTargetShooter
from Defiance, OH
|
"The Wildcats cycle well through my Ruger Mark III Hunter, Smith & Wesson 22A Sport Series, & Wather P22. I only had one failure fire out of the 1st brick. They are excellent for practice because they work and are not so expensive."

"Its just ammo folks. I have never had any problems with any shotgun shells including these. I would recommend them, but I honestly bought this because it was the case that was on sale."

Great for 25-50 yard range,
February 22, 2010
By TheBunny
from Central Florida

"Wildcat ammo works great in my S&W MP-15 .22 LR. It does not jam and fires clean unlike some other cheaper brands which leave a black film all over and smoke like crazy when fired.
The Wildcat, for me, performs best at the 25-50 yard ranges. It is almost as accurate as the CCI Target/Plinking ammo, but costs less of course. Going out to 100 yards I am able to still hit the target, but I go from a tight hit circle to spread out and pretty random within a few inches. It does hit the target though, so I am impressed nontheless.
I would recommend this as a third choice behind CCI Target/Plinking ammo and Federal Spitfire (no preference between those two, but both slightly better than Wildcat) If cost is your priority, this is fine ammo for most .22 shooting and you won't go wrong."

Great stuff,

"Great rimfire ammunition. Just started shooting these in my Marlin 925R and I couldn't be happier. It's Winchester brand, so you know it's good. Great for plinking or target shooting at the range.
If I was a better shot I'd mention MOA, but I'm not, I just started out."

Consistent & accurate,
February 21, 2010
By kodiakAlaskaHunter
from VA (Displaced Alaskan!)

"Been shooting Wildcats in my .22 for years and have always had good luck with them. They cycle my semi-auto Marlin reliably and burn fairly clean. Accuracy is very good, and unlike many low-cost .22 rounds these seem to have very little variation in muzzle velocity/report. I've shot some other brands of ammo that cost 2-3x more per box that had such powder charge variances that it sounded like I was shooting several different loads from the same box, but the Wildcats are consistent from shot to shot. I had one failure to fire out of two boxes, but the firing pin mark on the case was very light so I don't know if it was the fault of the gun or the ammo. Had no other problems, and as I said- very accurate and consistent.
Typical Winchester ammo- good quality, inexpensive, and accurate for plinking & hunting."

Win 22 LR,
February 15, 2010
By Galapoola

"Works well in my Ruger 22/45 & Marlin 60. Great plinking round, can't go wrong with Winchester ammo, have shot with 30-30, 38 Special, 357 Magnum & 45ACP. All terrific and predictable loads. Winchester has it down when it comes to producing ammo."

Observation,
December 27, 2009
By Teetertotter
from Janesville, WI
|
"I recently sandbaged my Marlin39a at 60 meters, in 40F temp at the rifle range to test this ammo. Group size was dime or approx .700. I will be using this indoors next month and will be Spring where the true test will be at 100m. I will have other mfg's of std and HV rd nose to test. I hope the Wildcat will hold 1.00" max. groups at 100m in my 39a as cheap ammo for shooting off-hand Silhouette. I will also be trying the Wildcat in my S&W 22a pistol next week, indoor 50ft to compare with Federal 510."

Does not like Browning 22,
December 26, 2009
By easydoesitfromtexas

"I've used many Winchester ammo and this is the first that keeps jamming in my Browing. I switched to Federal and Remington and had no problems whatsoever. The latter were jacketed so I wonder if that had anything to do with it."

Wildcat .22,
October 26, 2009
By furtrapper86
from Arkansas
|
"This ammo works great for me. I feed it through my bolt action CZ model 452. Winchester's wildcat load is the only lead round noise .22 load I will buy. I shoot lots of other brand hollowpoint bullets but anytime I want to shoot a solid round noise I load up with wildcats. Very accurate and I have never had a miss fire."

Great Cheap Ammo,
October 25, 2009
By SoCalHVACRep
from Deserts of California
|
"I own 3 Ruger 10/22's and a MK 6-7/8 Target and this ammo shoots flawlessly through all of them. I would suggest to others that have had problems that they need to make sure their chambers are clean so that the cartridge will seat properly."
