"What a great Value...but be sure to order a full size up. I don't know why Keen sizes the way they do, but they are always a size too small. Good sturdy footbed that offers enough protection for those 'strenuous' trails. Went for a 5 mile hike in the mountains skipping rocks and stepping on endless tree roots. No problem, my feet felt protected, and dry. Rated 4 stars because the laces are too short."

"The first thing that impressed me about these boots was how light they were.
I recently wore them on a several hour hike on the farm I hunt on. The farm is 300 acres of sloping fields and 660 acres of forested mountain. Hiking was done on and off trail. I cannot say enough about these boots. They are very supportive and comforable. The soles grip the terrain very well. The heels fit close and provide excellent heel shock protection. The box toes are roomy and allow your toes to spread out. The boots run a little small, so order a half size larger than normal."

"Used these boots a few times on dry hikes and was loving them - comfortable out-of-the-box, good support & traction, relatively light. But after encountering water, my opinion has cooled considerably. It's probably a manufactured defect but the right boot sops up water like a sponge (the left one is fine) and these "waterproof" liners take forever to dry out!"

"These boots are comfortable right out of the box; no break-in period. Hiked several trails in the Tetons and Yellowstone and they worked great. Comfortable, good ankle support and sure footed.
This is my second pair of Keen boots. Love them."

"Light yet serious, the Targhee was comfortable right out of the box. Very good support for a light hiker; excellent traction. Very fast break in. I wore them on a native brook trout fish for several days and they are 100% waterproof (unless of course you go in over the gusset). I love the box-type toe, the extra room provides all day comfort. Perfect boot for dayhikes or minimalist backpacking <30 lbs. Thanks to the reviews, I ordered one half size larger and was glad I did."

"Got these boots to wear on scouting trips with my son. They have been comfortable and I have been very satisfied with them. They seem to run pretty true to size, but if you plan on wearing thick socks with these boots, get a 1/2 or whole size bigger."

"Comfortable right out of the box. Like the large toe area for plenty of wiggle room. Had to buy size 1/2 larger than I've recently bought to get sufficient length. Only problem was the waterproof material made them a little too warm in the warmest weather. I liked the boots so much I also bought the non-waterproof and well-ventilated Voyager model as well to use in the summer! Now have two pairs of Keen sandals to use walking on swim dock and two pairs of boots for hiking and walking my dogs. Great products!"

"I bought the hikers because I have used and liked other Keen shoes. Two weeks after I got them I used them on an exotic sheep hunt and a week later on a turkey hunt. They performed very well. The turkey hunt was wet and they kept my feet dry. The only caution is they run small so size up one size. Other than that buy them."

"I wear a size 10 in every shoe I have, but I had to get a size 10 1/2 to get these to fit. Then there is something in the sole under my big toe that pushes into my toe and makes my foot so sore that I cannot walk for 3 days after wearing them! They are going back."

"Love Em! Only had them for about a month; but am COMPLETELY satisfied so far. Very comfortable right out of the box. Didn't buy for hiking; I wear them everyday. Normally I wear a size 12; but had to return for size 13. Absolutely no complaints. Bought them on sale, but would probably pay full price if necessary. Great deal on sale."

Average Hiking Boots,

"I purchased these shoes ten months ago. I am above average on the demand I place on my shoes. Currenty these shoes have some pieces of the bottom treads seperated from the sole, and most of the bottom tread worn down. On one December weekend of long travels in the snow/slush mixture of the Chicago streets these boots left my feet wet. I would say that was an above average demand on the waterproof ability of these shoes, but they did not keep my feet dry. I have had other boots perfom better. After wearing them for ten months I would not buy another pair of them. My biggest complaint about these shoes is the sole glue is not very durable. They were comfortable shoes but I would not buy another pair of them."
