"This crossbow is the best crossbow I have ever owned. I took down a doe opening day. My first shot at at a deer since getting the bow as a gift two weeks ago from my Dad and uncle. "Bought the Equinox at the Hamburg Pa. Store. Took no time to sight in. The bow is a bit wide, but being a simple bow, I can tighten up the string without having to go to the repair shop. Took a little bit of getting used to, missed my first two does, but then scored on two does, a seven point and Eight Point, with each arrow hitting ezactly where I was aiming. Excellant Bow"

"was looking for a crossbow keep in mind crossbows are legal in arkansas. the bow is a bit high on the price but money well spent. sited it in at 20 shots great the scope has marks on it for 20 30 40 50 yards and it can hit golf balls at 50 this is one of the best crossbows i have ever shot. the deer better run for cover come bow season"

"Im new to the crossbow, however I enjoy shooting it quite a bit. VERY fast and accurate. You cannot aim at the same thing twice without risking robinhooding your bolts which are not cheap. I wish the trigger was a bit more crisp, but I guess this is a common theme with crossbows, I would recommend this crossbow to anyone in the market."

Some Problems with the Package,August 15, 2009

"This is a nice crossbow and worthy of the price. It comes with an instructional DVD which apparently was made prior to putting this package together. The crossbow comes prestrung, but in two pieces. The video assumes it's all in separate pieces and so following it, especially the portion on scope mounting, wastes a lot of your time and gets pretty confusing at certain points. The ambidextrous cheek piece is installed for you right hand shooters and without instructions is a bear to remove and reinstall for southpaws. If you are a lefty shooter, don't even think about the Excalibur Crankaroo Cocking Device, because the cheek piece interferes with installation. The old package (according to the video) comes with string wax, this one doesn't and you must have it. It's cheap and a shame not to include with the package. Accuracy of the bow with scope is remarkable, so don't let the above interfere with your purchase, just keep these problems in mind."

"I found it easy to assemble but haven't sighted in the scope or shot the unit yet, I wish you would have stated that it came with the crankaroo cranking aid. Instead I purchased one and now have to return it. Also the crankaroo will not fit the bow with the cheek piece in place and must be removed before it will fit on the stock. I can't wait to shoot it and give you and update on how well it performs."

"I shot compound bows for years and it took a ton of practice. This bow was easy to set up and I was sighted in in about 5 shots. My sixth shot at 30 yds was dead on. The scope in the package is nice and clear and the range marks are accurate. Without all the extra moving parts this bow is at least a full pound lighter then most compound crossbows. You won't be sorry if you decide on an Equinox. I'm a believer that YOU DON'T NEED WHEELS ON A BOW!!"

"I received the Excalibur Equinox "Lite Stuff" crossbow package and was very please that the bow was already put together. All I had to do was mount the scope and quiver. I was able to shot a very good group right from the start. I also had a friend shot this crossbow. My friend does not bow hunt and he was putting the bolts into a group the size of a silver dollar right off the bat. Next I had my youngest daughter shot the crossbow. She does rifle hunt but has never shot a crossbow. Her second shot put the bolt into the quarter size group at 20 yards. All three of us could not believe the accuracy of this crossbow. I am 59 years old and have hunted with a compound bow since the mid 1980's and I have never been able to shot this accurate. I have also shot this crossbow at 30 and 40 yards using a rest and I was still able to make groups that were in the size of a silver dollar. I would recomend this crossbow in a heartbeat to anyone who wants to improve their accuracy when deer hunting! See is believing and I am now a believer that crossbows are very accurate indeed! I would recomend reviewing the Excalibur web site for detail information on their crossbows. Excalibur has a very good detailed instruction on the workings of their crossbows."

"Purchased it at the Cabelas store in WV. This is my first crossbow. I did a lot of online research and was impressed with the simplicity (translates into reliability) and reputation of the Excalibur products. Cabelas guys assembled the bow for me as I waited (toured the gun library a bit longer...). Shooting 2" groups at 25 yds freehand and hitting a pie plate (8") freehand at 40 yards. Grouping 3-4" at 50 yds propping the bow on a fence for stability. Accurate and powerful. A little loud but (a) I understand that they all are; and (b) at 350fps, the deer will be toast before he can react to the sound. I can't wait for deer season (and may have to drop a woodchuck or two in the mean time)."

"I purchased this same crossbow and can not say in words what it is capable of. My set up was the Equinox with the right stuff package. The only difference is it comes with more Bolts. Also there Boltcutter broad heads, and a quiver. After six shots my Vari Lux scope was doing 1.5 inch groups at twenty yards. This was with the field practice tips. "OUT OF THE BOX" It's so fast you really can not see the arrow in flight at that short distance. The rope cocker is a real nice thing to have and use. Assembly was straight forward after watching the dvd that came with it. I really gave lots of thought about which crossbow I was going to purchase. The compound choices were nice? My choice boiled down to the practical reason of the simple re curve design. Less moving parts to go wrong latter. The speed of the 225 draw weight. Then there is the reputation of Excalibur has a bow manufacture. They really do stand behind there products. You can pay a little more now. Then be glad you did much latter down the road. I have total confidence that this Equinox will take a deer at 40 yards all day. Really looking forward to September on opening day here in Georgia."

"I was extremely impressed with the quality and the design of the Equinox: In my opinion, it's the best cross-bow on the market. In addition, the price for the quality is outstanding. It shot tiny 2-inch groups right out of the package (be careful or you'll split your bolts). The trigger pull is crisp and light. You'll quickly understand why Excalibur cross-bows win national tournaments. The company includes an outstanding DVD video with the package and has an instructional web-site. In addition, they provide outstanding support/advice through their e-mail connection. I can not imagine anyone being disappointed if they purchase this cross-bow. I anticipate having a great deer season this fall in Michigan."

"If your looking for the ultimate crossbow that is sure to delivery the goods, look no further. Any of the Excalibur Crossbows are second to none. Extreme power, performance and deadly accurate, not to mention the absolute best in reliablity, the only thing that you'd ever replace for the life of the bow would be the string ( Eventually). There is just nothing to break or go wrong with this style of crossbow. I can't say enough when it comes to the quality of an Excalibur Crossbow.
