Excalibur Vortex,November 3, 2009

"I think this is a nice bow, fast and accurate. The problems I have is maneuverability and trigger travel. So much travel in the trigger that I returned it. If you hunt from a tree stand it could be a problem maneuvering this wide bow."

The best of the best,September 13, 2009
By pennsylvaniadeerhunterfrom Pennsylvania deer hunter for over 30 years.
"To the new crossbow hunters, I must say that I Excalibur makes the best of the best in crossbows. This is my 3rd year with the Vortex and I must say that simplicity is the key. I've harvested over 10 deer in the past 2 years with this crossbow. No cams, pullies......if you need to replace the string it's as easy as a recure or longbow. I really can't say enough about Excalibur crossbows, but check the stats........more competions are won with recurve crossbows that any other type of crossbow. Excalibur knows what hunters want. I had a Horton......it felt like a sledge hammer, carring it out in the field. The Vortex was light enough for my 8 year old to shoot his first buck 2 years ago. Again I say simplicity is the key.......I owned the rest.....now it's time for the best...Excalibur.......I'm going to be purchasing another Vortex for my oldest son this year.......I know that it will be another awesome year......"

Excalibur Vortex,August 29, 2009
By PapPapDennyfrom Pittsburgh suburbs
"I just purchased the Vortex at the Wheeling Cabela's. The staff there was great, and assembled the crossbow in-store.
I took it home and with just a couple of minor adjustments, I was hitting bullseyes in no time at 20 yards. At 40 yards, I am hitting within a half inch of the bullseye with every shot.
I'm 50 years old and am starting to hunt this year. I have every confidience in the Excalibar product and that if I get the shot to take a deer, that I will be putting some venison in the freezer."

"Dollar for dollar, I don't think you'll find a better crossbow. Simple, accurate, and FAST. Don't waste you money on noise suppression add-ons, they just slow your arrow down and don't help much. I have taken a groundhog at sixty yards, although deer is strictly 30 and under. Just a great crossbow."

Awesome so far...,July 13, 2009

"I JUST purchased this crossbow, purchased it in a Cabela's store and by the time I left the store I was shooting a 1/2" group at 12 yards. Took it home and was shooting the same 1/2" group at 20 yards. Can not wait until hunting season. Only problem with the Excaliber is there are no hard cases to put them in yet. However, since the bow is attached to the stock metal to metal, you can remove the bow from the stock and place them both in a typical rifle case. Once re-assembled, you do not have to re-sight it in. Worked like a champ. One add on item you may want to purchase is a cheek piece for the stock. The Vortex / Pheonix do not come with it whereas the Equinox does. Attaches with one screw and the hole is already tapped for it. Amazing crossbow..."
