Best of the Rangefinders by Far,November 19, 2009
By Anonymous
"This the the absolute best of the Rangefinders. It is smaller, the optics are brighter and clearer, it ranges more accurately, and it has an LED backlit display instead of LCD on cheaper rangefinders.
It has all the functions desireable. It has both bow and rifle mode, bow mode compensates for the angle of shot, rifle gives inches of drop for specific calibers and loads
Bow mode can either choose first target or last, in case you are ranging through brush.
Dont waste you money on another brand or something a little cheaper. This one does it all for the same price or in some cases even a little cheaper that the competitions best."

NO REGRETS,October 27, 2009
By jay9ptfrom Washington, MO
"I bought it about a week and a half ago. My wife of 3 weeks and I went to Cabela's to look at rangefinders for my b-day. I was going to get the Nikon Riflehunter 550, but also look at the Leupold RX 750 and the Bushnell 1000 ARC. The kid behind the counter directed me to the Leupold 1000 TBR. WOW!! I couldn't believe how much better the optics were. All the others had a yellow tint to them that wasn't noticeable until you looked thru the 1000 TBR. Then I turned it on to see the backlit display. WOW!! So much easier to see. After seeing my excitement, the wife said I should get the one I wanted so there would be no regrets later. NO REGRETS!
I read a million reviews before going to the store, but mostly on the RFs under $300. The most common complaint about the Leupolds was that there were too many menu options and that it was confusing in the field. NOT SO! Yes there are numerous options but I found it extremely easy to navigate thru and use. The different LED brightness settings, 3 bow modes, numerous rifle modes, different reticles, all were easy to navigate and choose the right option. I used it bow hunting last weekend and thought it was awesome. It does an outstanding job of picking out an object in brush and displaying the right numbers. I haven't used it for rifle hunting yet but look forward to using it's ballistic modes. It will tell you hold over or MOA for the specific caliber you are shooting and there are many categories to group your specific rifle in. That will take a little time but it's not like you hunt with 5 rifles at once. Set it up before you go out and you're done.
Last, but not least, the compact size was perfect. It was by far the smallest of the compacts, even from the RX 750 and RX II. It was cold on my morning hunts so I put it in the chest pocket of my jacket. Afternoon got up to 60 and it fit conveniently in my shirt pocket.
The RX 1000 TBR was well worth the extra $120. NO REGRETS!"

dabucks,October 13, 2009
By dabucksfrom North Dakota
"After debating in the store over the RX600 and the RX1000, im VERY glad I chose the 1000.
The red display is much more user friendly, especially in low light, or against dark backgrounds. The 600 display is very tough to read in low light or in the woods (much like the Bushnells and Nikons).
Great optics, actually brightens up objects in low light."

Leupold 1000 vs. Leica,October 13, 2009
By coloradorangerfrom steamboat colorado
"There are two rangefinders from my experience if you are looking to buy one you can hang onto for a long time and not have to think about replacing any time soon, this leupold and the Leica. The benefit to this Leupold is that it calculates angled shots and is the only LED Leupold which is important if you don't want to date your equipment from day 1. The Leica is a sharper, stronger can't go wrong piece of equipment but won't calculate angled shots. In my opinion, the Leupold has too much data on the screen, I like the simplicity and unmatched quality of the Leica better and if you practice angled shots you might see that you won't need a rangefinder to tell you the delta. If you buy the Leica I would go with the 800, I am not sure why 1200 yds is necessary to range. You can't go wrong with either one of these devices."

Well Made,October 5, 2009
By Grizzmasterfrom Northern Michigan
"I'm glad the Nikon was on back order during the Christmas season. When it came time to look at the range finders the quality from the RX1000 is un matched. Its very well made and durable. It will fit in just about any shirt pocket. Leupold did a good job with this product, I have been using it for range finding my targets while praticeing with the bow. Its is very reliable. Just buy it and don't look back, yes its about $150 bucks more than some others, but its worth it!"

Top of the line,September 29, 2009
By Boonerblasterfrom The legendary Buffalo County WI.
"Excellent product the illuminated red display is super easy to read in any light and the optics are super clear. Also the TBR feature accurately compensates for shot angle. Also nice and small for easy carry and unlike some of the other RX series range finders it is quiet to carry (doesn't have a loud hollow sound when it hits your release or harness buckles)."

A great range finder Leupold RX1000 TBR,September 20, 2009
By Qigretfrom Heber Springs, AR
"Purchase a few days ago in St. Louis. Practiced this weekend with the bow. Works perfect. Most impressive is the low light ability of the finder. I could see into the woods when the naked eye could not see across the property. Great job Leupold! This will be great early and late hunting prime time. I have a learning curve for the rifle part still but with practice it should be awesome.
Highly recommend! Don't worry about the internal brightness of the OLED. It is plenty bright. Not like the first attempts by Leupold. Big (huge) improvement."

By CAEarthQuakefrom Ca. hunters Hunting out of state mostly Co/Wyo
"Quality Leupold product. so far works as advetised and TBR seems to be true, easy set up. This one is the Wifes who started hunting in 04 and used the old 800 (other Co) liked the use didn't like the size, when she saw the size of this thing "thats what I want" Gues what thats the one she is using on elk this year. She was operating it like a pro in minutes. Little slow on reading speed however; had to teach her patients!! Wait for the numbers dear, and so far good to about 700+ on some objects. Fits almost any pocket and her just fine. Thanks Leupold"

"Nice and compact , and easy to use. Wish the range in the bow mode would go more then 60 yards when it gives TBR distance. Like the red color in the display, shows up good in early and late light."

Perfect bow hunting rangefinder,August 24, 2009
By xoutfrom Georgia
"Chronograph your bow it is a lot easier to find the correct setting.
Love the small compact size for spot and stalk.
Acquires target fast and gives quick accurate feedback.
After my hog hunt I know I am ready for deer season.
I have not used the Ballistics for my rifle yet but if it works ½ as well as the setting for my Bow I will be very pleased."

What a Disappointment,August 18, 2009
By MattRapidCityfrom Rapid City, SD
"Bought this with high expectations. The new red text gets dim even on the high res setting outside. It turns nearly pink and you have to look into a dark object to be able to read the distance reading. I had the RX II last year and it was difficult to use and clumsy. Finally went to the Leica 1200 and this will be my last one...Leica is a phenom. Stick to scopes Loopy...its what you are good at."

Not a bad r-finder,July 28, 2009
By Taxihunterfrom Oregon
"I purchased one of these specifically for long range hunting purposes and here is what I found. It will read flat rocks past 1000 yards. It will read mounds and round rocks at abour 850 average. It won't read animals past 780 yards period. It is a good device, but do not rely on this for animal yardages at 1000 yards. As good as expected."
