"My wife purchased the PSE Sidewinder for me as an anniversary present. I had problems fron the time I assembled it. The screws stripped out on the scope mounts with very little tightening. After getting it together and purchasing some tips(not included), I fired the crossbow. I thought I was shooting a gun. The thing cracked like it was dry firing. I adjusted the strings and tried again with the same result. I had some friends that have crossbows shoot it. They handed me the bow and said something was wrong. The sound and vibration was not good. I took it to a local archery store to see what they thought. After inspecting the crossbow they found the plastic piece that keeps the strings apart had broke. Ordered a new one. No help. Tried a heavier bolt and it did quiet the bow down some but there was still a lot of vibration. Sent it back."

"This crossbow was purchased for me by my wife as a father's day gift, but I never had time to get out and shoot it until Labor Day weekend. Anyway, I took a few shots and the crossbow was very loud and inconsistent. I made a few adjustments but continued to be inconsistent. On the tenth shot off this BRAND NEW CROSSBOW, the left limb splintered and broke. I began to do some research online, including other Cabela's reviews and found other people had limbs break even sooner. I contacted PSE for assistant. Also, keeping with others reviews, they were not the least bit caring. They offered to ship me a new limb and I could ship back the old one. All shipping would be at my expense. I hung up and contacted Cabela's. True to form, customer service was wonderful. They were very concerned and wanted to make sure I did the appropriate research before purchasing a different crossbow. Cabela's paid for the return shipping of this PSE and the shipping of the new Titan HLX I purchased to replace it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU SPEND A FEW MORE DOLLARS AND PURCHASE ANYTHING BUT A PSE SIDEWINDER. Cabela's customer service gets a 5, but I would give the crossbow a 0 if I could."

"I bought the pse sidewinder after saving my change for five years. I was tickled when the salesman showed me a crossbow i could afford and could get a package almost ready to shoot. I shot this piece of junk 16 times sighting it in. It made popping noises, but not being familiar with crossbows i thought the noises where normal. Well today was opening day . I cocked it to go hunting and pow the right limb snapped. I doubt if i will ever own another PSE bow. Spend a little more and don't buy a PSE crossbow if you don't want problems. The salesman at Cabela's did'nt know he had a faulty product . I can't blame Cabela's they treated me great!"

"I have owned multiple PSE compound bows and have never had any problems with them and very pleased with the results I get from them. So when PA approved crossbow use I decided to purchase a crossbow. I didn't want to spend a ton of money so I narrowd my choice to this crossbow and one from another company. I choose the PSE due to the experience I have had with their comound bows. After about 15 shots of shooting it in and getting used to using it, I heard little cracklng, creaking noises after it was cocked. Upon examination of the bow I found little hair-line type cracks on one of the limbs. So I returned it and had it replaced with another Sidewinder figuring it was some kind of fluke. However after shooting the second bow for about 15 shots the samething happend. More cracks on the limbs. So I am returning this one and will purchase my second choice."

"I just purchased this crossbow last week, and I'm very pleased. I had read the bad reviews, but decided to buy it anyways. I only had so much money to spend. I'm hitting the bulleye at 20, 30, 40, and 50 yds. Unbelievable. The only cheap thing about the bow is the charger bolts, they were good at 20 yds, but beyond that they were all over the place. Buy a box of some good arrows, and you'll be very pleased. It took about 10 minutes to sight the bow in, piece of cake. I have some friends that recently bought the Tenpoint Crossbows, and they spent a lot more money. The Sidewinder shoots faster, and has one more crosshair for that 50 yrd mark."

"I have only shot the bow in the backyard so far...but I am pleased with it to this point! My entire family have shot it and were impressed even my 7 yr old sticks the target most every time....with a shooting stick to hold the bow! do your self a favor....buy a rope cocker at the time you buy the bow! I did and can't imagine not having it! NOW if the PA GAME COMMISSION will leave the laws as they were written and allow us this extra opportunity...all will be good!"

"I ordered two of these, one for myself, and one for my dad. The instructions were clear and I assembled both easily. The first one's right limb actually broke the very first time I tried to draw it. I got the second one cocked OK and it shot fine other than a lot of metallic noise, even for a crossbow. I wasn't impressed with the quality and obviously skeptical in general after the first one broke so I returned both of them. I had heard really good things about the ten point but I was talked into the Barnett revolution in the store which was a lot cheaper anyway and I couldn't be more pleased. The revolution is quieter, easier to pull, more accurate, and a lot faster. I have shot PSE compound bows in the past and liked them, but I would stay away from their crossbows. Cabelas customer service was great getting everything sorted out as always."

"We bought the PSE Side winder XB Crossbow Package because it was HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The right lime broke on the second draw. Cabela's was wonderful. Very concerned if my husband got hurt, they asked me 5 times. Great people to deal with. Even put me in touch with Tech support to decide if I wanted a different Cross bow or total refund.On the other hand I called PSE they didn't care at all, and customer service at PSE said oh well. and didn't even care that My husband could have been hurt. After the reaction for PSE I'd never buy another thing from them. Cabela's Tech recommend The Barnett Revolution Package it cost more but well wroth the money great bow sighted in easy. And shoot straight and right on the money. Thanks for Cabela's for being so Great to do business with. Car"

"This crossbow is a dandy and the meat is in the freezer to prove it. It shoots flat for about 35 yards (100 grain expandable heads) and then the recticles in the scope come into play.
Hunting/harvesting deer with a crossbow is much easier than with a bow (and because the shots are accurate it is more humane.)"
