"I would not buy this camera. it eats batteries and is terrible. a wildview is better for battery life. otherwise the pictures are fine. i would recomend a moultre. they are cheap and they take great pics."

"Cameras only been in the woods for about 2 weeks, but I have some good pics of a couple of deer. Setup was so, so, but once it is setup it's easy to manage. Open it up, power it down, swap mem cards, turn it on, walk away.... There's been a few empty shots of nothing but trees, but you have to expect at least a few of those even from a more expensive camera. I have camera set on highest resolution and the quality of the pictures at night are great. The few that I've taken during the day were good, but some were "bleachy" because the flash for whatever reason goes off during broad day light; the pics were still distinguishable, but bright. Quality seems good, will update if I find otherwise. So far, all and all, I think it's a good buy."

Didn't work right out of box,October 1, 2009

"I bought this and a Moultrie to test 'em. Right out of the box, this one didn't work right. The On/Off switch was flaky and it frequently wouldn't turn on with a chip in place. I finally got it working and it took some nice pictures, but it started eating batteries when off. It finally quit for good after I drove 30 minutes to set it up. I refrained from drop-kicking it back to the truck, put a Moultrie up instead, and went home. Called Stealth Cam, sent it back. That was 4 weeks ago. Am still waiting.
I'm giving it a "Fair" because it DID take nice clear shots. Otherwise, it would get a zero. But, I suspect most of these cameras have issues- if you visit a Cabelas and go to the Bargain Cave there will be an entire section of trailcams "AS-IS"."

"DO NOT BUY STEALTH CAM PRODUCTS!!!! GSM OUTDOORS WHO YOU HAVE TO GO BACK THOUGH WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WHICH YOU WILL, IS NOT HELPFUL AND THEY WILL RUN YOU THROUGH THE RINGGER!!!!! I HAVE HAD (2) 550'S FIRST ONE STOPPED TAKING PICS SO I SENT IT BACK GOT A NEW (RECONDITIONED ONE) LASTED JUST OUT OF THE 90 DAY WARRANTEY AND THE FLASH BLEW CANT FIX IT, SO NOW THEY OFFER A RECON. ONE FOR HALF PRICE, AND I HAVENT SEEN IT YET.

"I had some high hopes for this camera, but it turned out like other ones i had purchased. A lot of blanks and two days worth of pictures taken every single minute with nothing on them. The lenses get all foggy towards morning and the pictures are all clouded with dew drops. It don't have a real fast trigger speed. I don't know what other camera would be better, but this one is not worth your money. I am not done trying it out, and if I change my mind, I will post again."

"The day pictures are unbeatable quality, even on lowest setting, but the night pictures are grainy, and white-out more than they should. I believe it is because the flash is so bright, and anything that is light color within 10-12ft of camera reflects all the flash back to the lens. Over all, this is a great camera, and really great if you can get it on sale!"

"I had my camera out for a week overlooking a food plot in northern PA and when I went to check it, it was full. Unfortunately it only had 12 pictures on it because I had it set at 8 megapixels and was only using the build in memory. I turned the resolution to the lowest setting until I get a 2 GB sd card so hopefully it is able to hold a few more pictures. Battery life so far is good. The pictures I did have are great quality! Just do yourself a favor and don't leave the store without a high capacity sd card so you don't have to run back, although it is a great excuse to go back!!! : ) As long as there are deer around this camera will fill up the sd card in no time!"

"I was looking for a night color trail camera at an affordable price. Past experience with Stealth told me the picture quality was typically very good for the price. So far my Sniper Pro has only been in the field about two weeks. The camera seems to be performing well so far.
When doing my home testing, I discovered this camera will not work with high speed SD cards. I purchased some standard SD cards and the camera works just fine.
If the camera makes it through November I will be sold on the Sniper Pro."

"i waited to write this review. this camera has been out 24/7, since may 20th. it's on a 12v pack. what difference 4 megapixels to 8. pic's are clear, you can see the blades of the grass. i have a 4 megapixel camera, which both are out with 12 volt packs. camera trips about 3-4 seconds between shots with flash. people state whiteouts, which you can get. it is because of the woods canopy depending where it is aimed. if it's aimed at an opening or field where there is no canopy, and camera is pointing there you could get some. for the price and quality of pic's, what a great camera!!! flash did not scare coyote!!"

"Good clear pictures. I have 2 Stealth cameras and 3 Moultrie Cameras. This is my favorite. I use the 12 volt plugin. I also put the 6 'C' batteries in it so if somebody were to unplug the 12 volt, I might still get their picture."

"I have had this camera set up on a trail (shooting down the trail) for 1 week and have retrieved 20 scenery pictures and 8 pictures that are too bleached out to tell if anything is in them. Stealth Cam customer support said it should be on a salt lick or food plot setting. This will not work because I am trying to document wolves in the area. I will be returning this camera and trying another brand."
