Careful with Assembly,October 26, 2009

"I put this tree stand together on my deck (do not do it in the field-too many pieces of hardware) and it feels secure and strong. It is heavy-don't try to carry it far into the woods. I picked this stand because the ladder is double runged and because there are 4 sections of ladder (a total of 20 feet high) instead of 3 sections.
The only problem was that the directions do not tell you to not tighten all the bolts until the very end. There are several pieces that fit over the same bolts. If you tighten the bolts before it is fully assembled, you have to take it apart about half way through assembly (which is what I had to do and it was a pain).
My suggestion would be to only hand tighten all the nuts and when it is fully assembled to tighten everything with a rachet."

"this stand is a comforatable climbing and sitting stand but even withh the double rung ladder the stand is still quite shaky. what it needs is the floor extended all the way back to the tree as similar to the top. the one anchor point on this tall of a stand is just not enough, it needs two anchor points to stabilize it. I added a piece of small square stock and bolted it to the floor and another ratchet strap from that around the tree and it sturded it up bigtime."

"Good stand. I like the fact that this stand sits 20 feet off the ground to the shooting rail, but doesn't put an enormous dent in your pocket. Fully assembled the stand weighs a fair amount, but can hung pretty easily by two adults. Good sturdy stand but I put a ratchet strap about three steps up from the base around the tree just to give it that extra rock solid stability. Overall, a great stand for the money. Elevate your game with BIG GAME!"

"This is a sturdy stand, I found that there are a pair of braces that fit better and sturdier if assembled different than the directions, I would not assemble the seat and shooting rail portion in the field, at least where I hunt anyway. It is made so that a section of the ladder could be removed if necessary to lower your height if location would dictate."
