great camera,November 19, 2009
By climbnhigh
"I tested this out in my yard first and it worked great. The camera and sensor field of view are dead on, it never missed a picture. I have had it for 3 months now and it still has the same batteries. I really like that the delay can be set as low as 10 seconds this should work great for multiple deer on a trail. This cam is by far better than my moultrie and stelthcams. Takes good pictures and videos day or night."

Great compact Cam,November 17, 2009
By swa737from Wyoming
"Great compact cam. Took it on our annual elk hunt and with it small size did not take up much room in my saddle bags. Very easy to operate and use. Takes great pictures and video. The only difficulty I had was unlatching the cover, unlatching can be cumbersome if you have large hands."

Bushnell 5.0 Megapixel Trophy Cam,November 14, 2009
By Buckshooter3
"Bought a Cuddeback Capture IR, and am not happy, poor picture quality during the day, and it pretty much doesn't work during the night based on my experience. So I bought the Bushnell Trophy Cam. This is one great camera the pictures are great, daytime pictures look like they were taken buy a professional photographer, and the infrared photos are super clear. I have yet to try the video mode but so far I am really impressed. To top it off it is really affordable. I am going to have to get more of these."

Best trail cam I've used,November 11, 2009
By smilelickerfrom East Texas
"Only problem is that the sensor is a little wider than the lens. I learned this when I got pics with a deer's shadow in the pic but the deer was outside the frame. Excellent sensitivity though."

Great Cam,November 6, 2009
By itukmorfrom Athens, GA
"I have used but not owned several different trail cams and this by far gets the job done better. The first major advantage is the size...it is small enough to attach to any tree or fence post. Second the 5mp photos are crystal clear even at dawn/dusk lighting. The controls for setup are simple but a little difficult to work in low light low temp environments just because the button size. I have not tested the video out yet but with the quality of day and night photos I am excited about seeing the results! After seeing the results this cam provided I made the purchase and am planning on purchasing several more to add to the arsenal. So if you want slow trigger speed, grainy photos, difficult controls, and a bulky appearence then this is NOT the trail cam for you. Two thumbs up.
Patrick"

More garbage,October 30, 2009
By bigbukfrom Whiting, NJ
"Just bought two of these cameras. One works pretty good, and the other is being returned. Won't take photos at night. I've just gave up on Moultrie, now Bushnell. What next? I guess I'll try another piece of garbage. By the time I find a good camera, season will be over"

Failure,October 26, 2009

"I recently acquired the Trophy Cam. It killed 8 batteries in less than one week while taking one photo. I had that camera replaced, no problems with Cabelas. The second camera killed 8 batteries in less than one week and no photos were taken. Factory problems in a production group??????"

Trophy cam GREAT,October 17, 2009
By RichardinSoIlfrom Age 66, love to hunt period. Also phtograph.
"I have two of these set in a 4 acre food plot. One T post mounted and the other Tripod mounted (Love the size). They have taken over 1000 pictures at 5 mgpxl and and about 400 AVI's. I was surprised at the clarity of the pictures and AVI's, is it as clear as my Nikon D-80 ? No but still very good for the price. The only times I have had false shots were in winds with gusts at 35-40 miles an hour. I have had shots that were without a deer or turkey on the first of three pictures then a deer or turkey in the next two. I had discovered before putting them out, that the motion detector actually picked up movement before an animal or person entered the viewing area so wasn't surprised. I like that since you are less likely to miss a good shot. If an animal runs past at close range it is possible to miss them. But I have several shots of fawns and one of a doe who was in full run at 40-45 feet, daytime shots, and they are very good. Have AVI's of fawns running and those are good. I have extra 2GB SD cards and change in the field, using my computer to view them later with a built in card reader. I am using Vista but didn't try the USB. I do want to share a Duhhhh on my part. I went to format an SD card in the field and the camera menu came up then switched to a screen that showed all the previous settings (also came up blank twice after turning off and back on). I couldn't get it to format or walk through the menu. Since it had been raining for about 4 hours before on that day I thought maybe moisture was a problem. (Didn't see any but) Dried it out at the house. Then Discovered the SD card lock was on. Unlocked that and everthing was fine. I told you it was a Duhhhhhh. At 66 years old you're allowed those. I would recommend this one, Yes."

Poor Sensitivity,October 16, 2009
By CustomMadefrom New Jersey
"I bought this cam to see how it compared to my Moultrie IR40. Just this morning, my father and I watched some does and bucks walk right by the cam, but when we checked it, only a couple does were on it; none of the bucks. I had the camera set on low sensitivity at first, then changed it to high sensitivity with 10 second intervals. Still nothing.
Some 2 gig SD cards would also not work with this cam.
Get the Moultrie IR40 for sure!"

"I have had my Trophy Cam in the woods now for about three months and I am VERY impressed. The battery life is amazing and so far every picture it has taken has been great. The night time pictures are clear as a bell and the flash range is right around 35-40 feet. I would recomend this camera to anyone, you cannot go wrong for the price."

Poor,October 13, 2009

"A buddy and I both bought 3 of them along with a digital camera viewer. It takes nice clear shots in the day but does not take clear shots in the night. Its range only goes up to 20 feet max not the 45 feet previously stated. I'm sending my back and going with a cuddy back."

Best I've used,October 10, 2009
By PaulDDSfrom Minnesota
"I have used many trail cameras. Many are very nice, but I have to say the Bushnell is my favorite. I have spent a small fortune on batteries for trail cameras. With the Bushnell, you can run it on 4 AA's or 8 AA's. With 8 AA's, it lasts a year. WOW. The optics are great so the photos are very clear. Even in total darkness, the IR takes beautiful black and white photos. The physical size is amazing. I can fit it in the pocket of my hunting jacket. I had a problem with the 2GB memory card made by Duracell. Don't get that one. When I used it, it only would capture video and no still shots. Not a problem with the camera, just the kind of memory card I used. Now I use a 2GB Lexar card and everything works perfectly. It's easy to set up, easy to use and easy to carry around. You can't go wrong with this camera. I would have paid hundreds more for it. I recommend getting two memory cards. Swap one out every few days and plug a new one in. It's nice being done shopping for cameras. This is the one to get. Just get memory cards made by Lexar."

Bushnell 5.0 Megapixel Trophy Cam,September 26, 2009

"I bought this cam after doing some extensive research and thought this seemed like the best one to go with because of the ratings. I set it up in back of my house, it 3 pictures of a grouse 20 feet away from the camera, and 84 pictures of deer just roaming through the first week I had it out. Then I tryed the video which is good. Needs some audio though. Great camera. Especially for the price."

Great Camera,September 23, 2009
By WiElkHunterfrom Erin Wi
"I was out elk hunting this week in Arizona, where the guys were using these cameras on the water holes. The quality of the day and night pictures was great. The night flash range was equally impressive. Not having to mess with all the batteries all the time was nice and the set up was very easy. I have a Predator Xtinction and these little cameras blow it away in picture quality and price."

Preliminary Review,September 22, 2009
By WFUDeacon
"I just purchased the Bushnell Trophy and have been testing it in the back yard during the day and at night for the last several days. I also own two Recon Outdoor Talon trail cameras, which are pretty rugged, have very good battery life, but trigger speed seems slow unless capturing pictures or video over a corn pile, at a feeder, etc.
So far, here are the early results on the Bushnell Trophy: 1) great size, small and light-weight...even with batteries installed, 2) case seems durable enough, a little worried about latches but time will tell, 3) set up appears to be fairly easy if you're accustomed to working with trail cameras, 4) trigger speed seems good, 5) flash is as advertised and works well, 6) both day and night time pictures are a touch blurry with moving subjects, but are definitely good enough, 7) day and night video is very acceptable, 8) Instruction manual a bit confusing, so I called Bushnell with my questions. Had to go to website to get customer service number. Hard to reach them at first. The rep told me that they were swamped on Mon, Tues and Wed and the best days to call were on Thurs and Fri. The instructions relating to formatting the card said that formatting the SD card would delete any photos or vidoes on the card, which concerned me. However, new cards don't need to be formatted. So simply install the card and get started. It's my understanding that SD cards used for other applications with a different format do need to be formatted to work with the Trophy. No big deal: save anything that's on the card to your computer, then format the card and you're ready to go.
While I don't yet know how well the camera stores photos and videos, I purchased the largest SD card (San Disk) that the camera will accomodate: 2 GB. As cheap as this digital storage is, there is no reason not to purchase as much as the camera will hold.
Also, I called Bushnell to ensure that I purchased the right "brand" of SD card because the PNY brand had created problems for my Recon Talon cameras. With the Talon cameras, I went with the San Disk brand of SD card and the problems disappeared. Interestingly, the Bushnell technical assistance representative recommended most any brand other than the PNY brand, without sharing my information on my previous experience with PNY.
At this point, I didn't give the camera 5 stars b/c the pictures of moving subjects were a little blurry. Again, they are definitely good enough to determine antler mass and approximate score.
More to come after I put it in the field for several weeks."

Information of SD cards,September 22, 2009
By trev04
"I've just ordered the Trophy Cam based primarily on the strength of these reviews. I will follow up with a product review once I receive and use the camera. I was a little frustrated when reading about people having trouble with certain SD cards but provided no specific information.
I spoke to Bushnell yesterday and they told me customers have reported trouble with some PNY and Kodak cards.
The following cards have worked well in the camera - SanDisk, Lexar, Kingston, Duracell, and some store brands (no specifics given).
Hopefully this will save you some time and energy."
