Recommended for safe training and practice,

"I bought these aluminum training rounds for dry firing, reloading drills, and malfunction drills for my .40 caliber auto pistol. They work very well and are very durable, much more so than the plastic training rounds I've used in the past. Color and light weight make them easy to differentiate from live ammo, recommended for safe training."

12 Guage A-Zoom Snap Caps,
October 30, 2009
By ArkansasWolverine

"Excellent product to practice dry firing. Prior to purchasing, I read reviews that stated the product did not hold up. I have not experienced that problem. I have a Mossberg 930 SPX and the gun was having issues cycling. I bought several to load in the tube and work through the cycling problem. Certainly a lot safer than using real rounds. The one recommendation that I would make to the manufacturer, which was identified by previous reviewers, would be to color the rounds orange or some other bright color as well as write practice round. Buckshot rounds manufactured by Estate and Remington are red just like the Snap Caps. It would eliminate the possibility of commingling the rounds by accident. Other than that, this is a good product that I would highly recommend. Good and safe way to practice."

"These do what they are supposed to do and work well. I don't know how necessary they are, but it made me feel a little better to have a snap cap in place when I dry fire than simply doing it to an empty cylinder."

A-Zoom Aluminum Snap Caps,
September 11, 2009
By MAB

"I am a huge proponent of dry firing to master technique, consistency, stability and muscle memory, and snap caps are a must to avoid potential damage to the weapon from the repeated dry firing, regardless of what the individual firearm manufacturer may say. I use A-Zoom Aluminum Snap Caps for all my pistols and they are a superb product. I highly recommend them to any serious shooters."

Boresnakes Not Too Bad,
September 10, 2009
By kb

"I purchased one for every caliber weapon I have. So far I have only used 2 of them (.22 and 12 ga). On one end is a string with a weight on it that looks like a shoelace that you drop through the barrel from the chamber to the muzzle. Then you step on the weight and pull the barrel up, pulling the boresnake through the barrel to clean it.
The string/shoelace on the .22 caliber boresnake came out of the weight on only the 2nd or 3rd pass. I super-glued it back on and it has worked fine since. I was slightly disappointed by that...
I use The 12 ga. one every week since I shoot trap weekly. I was disappointed that it doesn't clean my bore after 50-75 rounds with only one pass. Yesterday after firing 50 rounds I had to pull it through the bore 4 times before I couldn't see any more fouling in the barrel. I have seen other models/kinds that are superior, but this works, hence the 3/5 instead of a 4 or 5."

Good Caps for training and drills,
September 6, 2009
By FrugalShooter
from St. Joseph, MO
|
"I bought some of these in .45 for my 1911. They work pretty well. They are dark purple and are not the same weight as real ammo. They work fine for malfunction practice and for dry firing. The finish does start to come off little by little and the extractor claw will leave scratches on the sides of the rounds. I would buy these long before buying anything made of plastic."
