"Being 70 with COPD I quickly realized rowing was not my thing with my new pontoon boat, especially in the wind. After a lot of shopping on the Internet and stores I decided to order the mini kota 30 lb thrust. It not only looks like new it does everything I have wanted to do. I Would not hesitate to recommend reconditioned to anyone if they are all like mine."

"The motor came in a timely fashion, I didn't open the box for several days. When I did I noticed the control arm was missing, made the call to customer service, they gave me the option to either return the motor or they would try to send a replacement control arm. The arm was delivered by UPS 3 days later. I'm very glad I didn't waite untill I wanted to use the trolling motor.
Over all I like the product & Cabelas treated me fairly."

"Great delivery from Cabela’s… a simple and flawless process.
I took the recon Minn-Kota-36 out for the maiden voyage yesterday. The boat is a semi-decked 14’ aluminum V-hull, 5 gal of gas, 9.9hp OB and the trolling motor w/ battery. We had 3 adults with fishing gear. The wind was 5-10mph.
We used the trolling motor intermittently all day for a total run time 1-2 hrs. It preformed well and had plenty of torque, speed and was very quiet. The battery didn’t seem to be too exhausted, no more than expected.
The only new observation I can add would be… Due to the weight of the lower unit, it doesn’t pull up out of the water as easy when you want to relocate on the lake but that’s the trade-off for more torque and better performance of the Minnkota-36.
I can reconfirm the suggestions to improve the detent-notches on the speed controls to a MORE OBVIOUS CLICK because between the telescoping handle and the soft clicks of the speed controls the entire handle assemble seem just a little sloppy… but I can live with it.
Overall, I am very happy with this motor for the price and I did shop around. The Recon Unit from Cabela’s is a Great Deal but they could have thrown in a hat to make it even better ;)

"This trolling motor was in great condition for a reconditioned model. I could only find one spot on the top of the cover where there was a small scuff mark. Other than that, it looked brand new and operated like a brand new one. I only gave it 4 stars because I saw a brand new one in a competitior's sale flyer about a week later, and it was only 20$ more than the reconditioned one that I bought. Also, it was the 36lb. thrust model with a 36" shaft. I would think that a reconditioned trolling motor would have a price tag that would make it a better value than only 20$ off the price of a brand new one."

"I bought this motor to attach to my personal watercraft, which is a fishcat pontoon boat. The motor works pretty good, I wish it had equal power in reverse as forward. The big problem I have is the battery. There is no recommendation for battery type in the papers with the motor, only that you should install a 60 amp reset breaker by the battery, but its not included either. So I struggled with different batteries through a long camping weekend, trying to find one that would power the motor longer than 30 minutes and not weigh the back of the boat frame down so much that the front end is out of the water. If you buy this, give yourself a couple of weeks to work out the kinks before going on a long trip."

"the only complaint I have is not knowing about these reconditioned trollers--I can't tell the difference between the one I just bought , or the "new" one a buddy of mine just got, except for the big difference in price. Works just great with my inflatable pontoon boat I purchased from Cabelas. Once again , great gear from Cabelas. I'd like to say more, but, I'm goin' fishin' !!!"
