I have been using E collars for many years now and I'm finally pleased to tell you that I have found the collar system of my dreams. Even though the Sportdog people estimated the range to be approx. 1 mile, I have consistently been getting over two miles. What a pleasure when I'm out Coon hunting and can actually reach my dogs. They have a new level of understanding...without being cruel. It's simply a matter of them knowing that I can reach them.
This product is light weight, completely water-proof and a real bargain for the price. It seems that the competitors pricing for a comparable system is at least twice as much.
Sportdog has really hit a home run with this new 1825 system. Thanks for carrying this brand!!!"

Breaks new ground, price is great,May 24, 2009

"This is my first E-collar, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I love it so far.
The best thing is, if you are a first time user and don't exactly know your style of training, this collar lets you find that style and use it. You can customize the transmitter buttons to do whatever you want. You can tweak the stimulation levels, and the non-stimulation options, to however you want them.
This is the only collar I've seen that lets you do that. Say you want one button for vibration, one for constant stimulation, and one for nick with a tone warning, you can do that. You can set it up to exactly match you and your dog's training style, which is the real beauty of this collar.
It's also the only collar that I know of that has both vibration and tone-only options, very handy for training and can eliminate the need for electricity with your dog.
The unit is durable, waterproof and has a well-made feeling in the hand. I have had no problems with range so far. I think SportDog has broken some new ground here with a fine collar that takes customization to a whole new level. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this collar. You get a lot for the price, way more than current competitors, in my opinion."
