Camping Fun,August 27, 2009

"We love the roominess of this tent. My husband is 6'7" and he really appreciated finally having a tent that he could stand up in! We especially like the attention to detail with all of the storage pockets and the enclosed front area outside of the main tent. This came in handy when trying to stay away from mosquitos and biting flies! The overall construction and design are well thought out. The tent sets up pretty easily too, but we encountered a couple of problems. First, the tent came with no instruction manual or parts/pieces information. Luckily we're both seasoned campers so we figured out how to set it up pretty quickly. Second, we had a problem with one of the ten-section poles...first the elastic cord broke and we had to do a quick repair job and then one of the aluminum connectors that joins each section split down the middle. Luckily we were able to get some hose clamps and jerryrigged the pole so the back of the tent would stay up on that side. Cabelas is working on getting us a replacement pole, even though we don't have a parts number (because we never got one with the tent...just like the instruction manual that didn't come with it either). Don't even try calling the 800 number that Trekker gives you if you need help. They don't answer the phone (I called twice and had to wait a total of 45 minutes to get someone on the phone!) and when they do they give you the run around.
Other than the pole and the bad customer service from Trekker, we really do like the tent and would recommend it."

"Great tent for the money! It is huge inside without being obnoxious. Set up was a snap and it stayed dry during a week of off and on downpours."

READ THIS - Awful tent (Cabela's GREAT though),July 14, 2009
By stelmafrom Grand Rapids, MI
"The first time I put up the tent, one of the poles broke at the metal coupler between the bungee-corded fiberglass sections. I exchanged it, and the second tent stood fine. But the storage bag split at the seam when I put the tent away (tent was rolled up tight - not the issue) just from pulling the zipper together to zip it up.
0 for 2 was enough for me. Also noticed the seams were stretching and the stitching was giving away. All this in my FRONT YARD! Not even in the field yet!
The overall quality of this product is just poor.
So I exchanged a second time for the Cabelas brand Quad Pole Dome Tent. Review is pending. :)
Not really Cabela's fault...it is not their product, just a brand that they carry.
Hat's off to Cabela's though, they sent the second tent to me to ensure that between the two sets, I would have enough parts for ONE good tent, and just said to send all the spare parts back. These guys know how to treat customers. I'll buy from them over and over, regardless of product."

large tent,May 20, 2009

"We love how large the tent is, however, we have found the tent to be difficult to assemble. Maybe there is a trick to the set up, but we have not figured it out yet. Any suggestions would help."
