"DO NOT BUY. This is a piece of junk and Cabelas should save themselves and their customers alot of aggravation and stop selling it. Could not keep the knife running even though the trigger was depressed and with the blade release located where it is the blades keep getting released."

A piece of junk,

"I am normally satisfied with Cabela's but this knife was used only twice when it quit working. It's design was poor and had cheap plastic for gears and blade holder. I was not surprised that it did not last long. It looked like a piece of cheap made junk when I took it out of the package. Very disappointed to say the least. Other folks, please do not waste your money on this one."

"Used this knife 3 times, trigger for engaging knife already broken. Knife has rounded tip that is not part of the cutting edge and make it difficult to take out walleye cheeks.
Taking it back next time I get to the store."

"The blade release is poorly located and the blades come loose constintly while using. The plastic pieces attached to the blades came off after the 5th fish. I love Cabelas products but am really disappointed in this product."

"I purchased two of these to take on a week long camping trip. The blade release is in a very bad posistion, the switch is hard to hold on, and they both stopped working by the end of the week. One only lasted an hour. Spend the money to get a better knife.
But I will say Cabelas took them back no problem and its still my favorite store!!!!!"

"I AM LEFT HANDED AND THE BLADE RELEASE IS LOCATED SO THAT IT RELEASED AT TIMES WHEN WAS USING IT. OTHER THAN THAT IT WORKED FINE."

"My complaint is about the" on" switch. It is very very hard to keep on,thus canceling the benefit of the easy cutting. The spring is way too strong." I can hardly keep it going."

"I recently purchased the Cabela's Electric Fillet Knife. When used for the first time, I found the blades to be so dull as to render the knife unusable. When I returned from my fishing trip, i contacted Cabela's, who immediately agreed to send a replacement. I have been a regular customer of Cabelas for many years. I believe this is the first product ordered that has not performed as anticipated.

"A few things that really hold back the quality of this knife are a)the power switch. You don't just push in; you have to push in and back at the same time, not comfortable at all. b)the blades. They are extremely flimsy and they are rounded on the end, so you can't poke through skin very well. Not good. c)the switch that holds the blades in is in the worst spot. It's on top of the knife and gets in the way, because you don't want to push on it, or the blades will pop out. d)the blades might pop out while you're using the knife anyway. They did on us.
Get the Mr Twister knife....it's a MUCH higher quality knife."
