Cortland Line Company has been a leader in fly line technology and development since introducing the first synthetic line in 1953. Cortland scientists have furthered their line development with this all-new Precision PE+ Crystal technology. It's formulated with a proprietary blend of polyethylene and copolymers and built on a nylon monofilament core. The patent-pending crystal-clear jacket is naturally lighter than water, which eliminates the need for microballoons or other floating agents. The results are a smaller diameter floating line with less wind resistance when casting and less disturbance when the line hits the water.

The hard, ultrasmooth line jacket finish has a lower coefficient of friction than other production floating lines, so it shoots silently through the guides and casts farther than equivalent PVC-coated lines. The tough line jacket is also more resistant to cuts and abrasion and is fused to the monofilament core with an almost unbreakable bond – so nail knots hold securely. Its high tensile strength virtually eliminates stretch for instantaneous hooksets. The PE+ jacket is also UV stable, is highly resistant to chemicals and won't absorb water. And, unlike PVC-coated lines, it's the only fly line currently manufactured that's 100% recyclable.
