"I bought the 9V performance head for use on my Cabelas xenon light so that I could have some extra light while walking around at night during camping trips. I have used this light on many occasions and it is amazing. The light output is not only much greater, but you get a much wider and longer beam as well because of the larger head. It makes the perfect light for taking out on the trail at night. The only downfall is that the head is a bit larger so it is more difficult to fit in your pocket and no longer fits in the sheath. However, a few uses and you will be so impressed with the output that you wont care about the added size. Great add on for an already great light."

Great light once I got it to work!,

"I'm not sure exactly why, but this performance head did not want to work at first. It wouldn't work when the head was tightened al the way, but it would come on when I unscrewed it slightly. After a few times of taking it off and putting it back on- it worked just fine every time. It is WAY brighter than the standard head, and is the same price when on sale. The only drawback is you will absolutely chew through the batteries."

"I purchased the XPG Xenon Performance head as a spare replacement bulb for my 12 volt flashlight. The head is so much larger than the original head that I decided to return it for an original replacement bulb. I did not install it so I cannot attest to it's performance."

"The add on Xenon light head was a nice bonus for an already quality flash light. It was very nice to be able upgrade the lumens to 225 from 180 without having to purchase a whole brand new flash light. Also, found a 225 lumen Cree add on that fits the original 180 lumen head which is a nice addition."

"A great addition to an already outstanding flashlight. The
extra lumens are not readily apparent when using the light
in a close-in setting. However, when comparing the performance head with the regular head at 30-40 yards,
the difference is significant both in brightness and
in the distance under light. The only drawback, and
the reason for four Stars instead of five, is the light with
the performance head will not fit in the original case. A
longer velcro tongue on the case would solve that. Additionally,
the light beam is symetrical with no shadows."

"when it works you can not beat it, but it only worked for a short time and then quit. It just so happens when it quit I was tracking a wounded hog in thick brush and had no moon. That made for an intresting 3/4 mile walk back to a road. I will say that I had one prior to this one that worked flawlessly for over a year until I dropped it on a conrete floor and broke the bulb. It seems that the maker changed the design of the spring on the bulb and that is the problem."

Great product...if you can get it to work,

"This is a tricky add-on for the cabelas flashlight. At first it worked fine. However I had to make sure the head was on before putting the batteries in. [ex: I couldn't compare the light output of the different heads without taking the batteries out each time]. Then the product stopped working. I gave up on the light for a while, then hunting season came around. I looked at the head again and came to the conclusion that the spring that touches the battery was slipping off the battery. So I stuck some paper around the spring to hold it in place, and it has worked great ever since. Not sure if it is like that with all head or just the one I recieved.
Overall I am pleased....now that it works"

Extreme Head Didn't Operate.,

"I screwed the performance head onto my Cabelas light, (with which I am entirely satisfied), and the head would not work. I had to unscrew the head a few turns before the light came on. Therefore the light heads machining is a little off. I didn't feel like keeping it "slightly unscrewed" at least not for the price. I sent it back for a refund."

"12v Cabela's XPG Xenon Extreme Performance Head is the brightest thing a have ever seen. Unfortunately after small accident I had to change the bulb. At Cabela's no spare bulb exists. Head itself is quite expensive. For the regular head you can buy the lamp which is twice cheaper than the head itself. With the performance head it's not a case."

"Works well on the six volt. It's larger than the standard head, so if you expect to mount it make sure you have enough clearance. I used Medium sized rings and mounted it underneath the barrel and I still had room to spare."
