Great Pants,November 2, 2009
By Kelinsky1from Wonderful Wyoming
"These are great wet weather pants. Used them this year Elk hunting here in Wyo. The first day was foggy and drizzle all day and I stayed completely dry. Next day we had 4-6 inches of heavy wet snow and still stayed dry while I got my 6x6 bull.
I'm very pleased with these and would not hesitate to recommend them to others."

Good Outer Pants for Layering,September 1, 2009
By Mad68from Mattawan, MI
"From the bargan cave, this is a GREAT value. They are quiet and seem robust. Enough room to layer underneath or wear with just a pair of pants under. "Waterproofness" TBD. I will know better after elk season in CO.
The only problem is the elastic waste has no belt loops. I will be adding those myself. I purposely bought a pair that is a size big to accomidate layering in the cold and warmer weather. When warm, I'll need to sinch it down a bit. If this had the same belt system as the High Country Super Shell Pants, this would be the best value going because it is Gore-tex. Very minor complaint but could add cost if you or your spouse aren't able to make alterations."

Where's the belt?,August 24, 2009
By Ewang
"Overall the rain pants are a decent quality. My only complaint is there are no belt loops on the pants. If I have any weight in the pockets the pants slide down. Not to mention that they are for hunting and I need to carry a belt knife for field dressing."

quality pants for the price,August 3, 2009
By Glenndenfrom Cabot, AR
"I like these pants. They fit comfortably and can't wait to try them in the field. Belt loops would have been a plus but this is not a problem for me because they are well tailored to fit my hips. They might not stay up on someone with skinny build."

Gore-Tex,May 6, 2009
By forager
"The pants are not what I wanted. They seemed to be well constructed, and most likely waterproof (gore-tex). However they failed to include belt loops, draw string, or side cinches. Due to the lack stated cinching materials the pants are hard to keep at your waist, especially with gear in the pockets. The pants are heavy, and would not be very easy to pack down into a day pack. However if you hunt from a blind or tree stand then you probably would not have a problem with them. On the other hand if you have to do any sort of hiking/tracking in them good luck."

Lower Quality Than Expected,May 4, 2009
By WIBadgerHunter2from Madison,WI
"For the price and quality materials i expected these pants to be higher quality. The elastic in the waist is weak at best. They used to come with belt loops but no longer do. Good Luck keeping these things up."

"The pants are fine for the tree stand but that is about it. They will easily tear and have no belt loops. Otherwise they are warm and dry in harsh conditions."

Just not worth it,February 3, 2009
By superherogoodguyfrom Carroll County, MD
"I found myself between sizes with these pants. Given that the pants don't have buttons for suspenders, no loops for a belt, and no front closure or fly, they just don't fit well and there is no getting past it. I use waterproof pants for big game and waterfowl hunting, as well as turkey in the spring. For the price, I expect more out of these pants than they delivered.
I have been a fan of Gore-Tex products from the very beginning, but I think that the price of their products is way out of line with comparable fabrics these days. Although Cabelas recieves a lot of my disposable income, I am saddened to say that these pants are not worth it and surprised that Cabelas didn't realize it first.
Although I was not pleased with the product's fit, it seemed to be durable construction and available in Advantage Timber, my personal favorite flavor. If you are a guy that fits the standard that these pants are made to and don't mind paying twice what the competitive fabrics cost, go for it."

A couple of issues,January 16, 2009
By Stylesfrom Albany OR
"Starting with the good: These pants keep you dry, are comfortable when layering (big enough to accommodate layers). and have seamed to be durable enough for Elk hunting in Eastern Oregon (lots of dense evergreen growth but not many thorns or briers). The zippers and the cuff snaps works great and are a nice touch.
My biggest complaint is that there are no belt loops . . . . This doesn't make any sense to me and I had Belt loops installed after my first trip out with them. Having belt loops improved these pants significantly for me. They other complaint is the cut of the inseam. The crotch seams to be to long as i have to hike my pants up pretty high to have range of motion for my legs. This could just be a problem for my body type. I would also like to see the pants cut to accommodate longer strides that are used when going up or down hills or over obstacles. Also reinforcement in the knees and seat would be a good idea.
I would certainly try some more pants on and see if there was anything that fit me better in this price range before i would buy again, but over all not a bad pant by any means.
Certainly try these on before buying."

Yeah their Grrreeeaaaattt???!!!,January 2, 2007
By Bellafunkfrom Greenville, SC
"These are great pants if you want to wear them around the house. If you even go near briar's or any ground cover higher than your ankle, they will get shredded. I wore them one time walked through a very very thin briar patch (<10 yards) on the way back to the truck and they were ripped to pieces. The Gore-Tex and outer layer is ridiculously thin. I was given (2) pairs for Christmas. Thank goodness I can return the second pair."
