replacement stock,September 5, 2009
By Ammo7from eastern PA
"I bought this stock to replace the original on an older Savage 110, 30-06. This is a fabulous stock, but it could use some improvements. The stock is rigid, comfortable to hold and good looking. The Savage action fell right into place. A superb job of machining the interior of the stock - very precise. No wonder Cabela's was sold out of these when I ordered. Action screw holes were very tight tolerance, almost no fitting required. I did free-float the barrel, which you don't have to do. Just a lot of sanding. On the down side - no checkering, no swivel studs. The forend in particular is a little slippery and could use the checkering. The butt pad looks a little thin and I may have to change that on the 30-06 after I try it at the range."

Thumbhole Stock Remingtom 700 BDL,August 24, 2009
By DaddyMackfrom North East Alabama
"The stock is very beautiful and exceeded my expectations. The fit was almost perfect I had to add a couple of shims for a perfect fit. The stock feels natural. It reduced the recoil to a 308 feel instead of a 30-06. Sighting-in was no problem and accuracy was perfect, 3 shots in 1 hole at 25 yards. I want to replace other stocks in the future as money will allow."

Thumbhole Rifle Stock,July 20, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Eastern Washington State
"I Have trouble with my shoulder, and holding a regular style stock puts my shoulder in a painful position. I bought one of these for my model 10 Savage When it arrived every thing fit except the front action screw was short. That was solved by counter boring the metal insert about 1/4 of an inch (you can go even more up to 1/2 inch if needed lots of metal in there.) After that it fit like a glove. if you want to float your barrel you need to sand the barrel trough. I headed to the range, and after the first round I could not work the action. I went back home and discovered that it is not designed for the accutrigger setup without "some modifications", it says that in the in store catalog. that was fixed by in letting the front of the trigger cavity about 1/32 of an inch with a dramel tool, this allows the trigger action to move like it needs to. You can have a gunsmith do this for you if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. I spent about 30 minutes in all on the needed adjustments. Just remember to reseal the area that you sand out in the trigger area. After this it was back to the range. I put about 60 rounds through it and I found that my groups were tighter, and my shoulder was for the most part pain free. It was well worth the money and time. Several members of the sportsman's club that I belong to loved the looks and feel so much that they are planning on getting the same stock for themselves"

Thumbhole stock,March 24, 2009
By waltspre64mod70
"This stock is made to fit sporter actions; that is, thin tapered lightweight barrels. It IS NOT meant to accomodate heavy barreled varmint rifles. Overall quality is very good."
