"I ordered this to free up some space. When it arrived I received the metal hanging frame, the document pouches, mounting hardware and the original box top inside the Cabelas box. There were no gun hangers. The rack frame is your standard closet shelving wire with a brown poly coating. I will be returning the item rather than trying to figure out where the gun hangers are. You'll need to make sure you have the proper room for the rack to fit. If you have full size shelves in the area the hanger will be you might not be able to hang guns but without the hangers I can't be sure."

Maximizer Storage Rack,

"This product was purchased to make room in the safe for things that were stuck in sideways and disassembled and it accomplished that task. The rack came without the document pouches but Cabelas rapidly provided those in a second mailing. I modified the rack by bending the mounting flanges down so the rack hangs on the door panel thereby eliminating the need to drill holes in my safe door. The hangers have to be placed and tested to see they don't conflict with shelves or other things in the safe. The one star I deducted was because the pistols are all mounted differently depending on the type of handgun and what's sticking out of it to catch the mount. This should only bother you if you're a "neatnick" who likes symetry."

"was shipped in plain brown box. drilled mounting holes with drill bit, then mounted rack with the screws provided. total time was maybe 20 minutes. holds everything from a s&w j-frame to ruger .44 mag pistol. i recommend this if you need the space."

Rack Em 16 gun handgun storage system,

"First let me state that the basic concept of this system is a great idea. Why something like this does not come standard on most of todays better gun safes is beyond me. That being said there are a few major short comings with the execution of this design. First of all the installation sounds easy, drill two holes and screw it to the top of the door. If your safe is made by one of the major manufacturers be prepared for the following. The screws supplied with this unit will not self tap into a heavy gauge steel door. I finally gave up and drilled and tapped the door and used machine screws, its definitely the way to go. If you don't know how to do it find a friend who does. Secondly the gun hangers are 1/2" to 3/4" to deep for all but the largest handguns. I have a Ruger Redhawk .41 Mag and a Smith .44 mag and both could have used a smaller hanger. Why they don't offer a couple of different depths who knows. Third, and of least concern, you will probably never be able to actually hang 16 guns. Again a great idea and still worth buying. Maybe Cabelas can get the manufacturer to make the necessary modifications."

Cheaper than a new safe!,

"I was very excited to find this product as I had run out of room in my 23 cf John Deere safe by Liberty. I really wanted door storage but you can't get that as an after-market add-on from Liberty. This product is well made and the vinyl coating is great so your guns don't get scratched. One problem I had was missing hardware that was supposed to be included in the package. This was my first Cabelas purchase and they told me I could purchase the hardware locally and request reimbursement - lucky me. Anyway..........overall the product is neat but it really isn't for smaller frame handguns. Fits my 45's, 40's and larger frame 9mms without a problem. Overall, it's cheaper than buying a new safe!"

"The product installed easily and has proven a great space saver. I do indeed like it. However, when it arrived I found it to be in its original box showing exactly what it was and thus advertising to all who saw it that I must possess a number of hand guns. Should someone with nefarious intent spot that box the purchaser might get an unwanted visitor. Cabela's should be more attentive to the security needs of its customers in this day and age."

"Assembled the rack and fastened it to the door of my safe.
Looked great but quickly found out that I couldn't close the door! Had to adjust the rack so that guns were not in line with the inside shelves. Need to have at least 4-4 1/2 " of clearance. I put what racks I could in and wound up with 8 of the 12 possible. Looks awesome though!
Make sure you have enough clearance on the inside of the door of your safe"

"This product fits perfectly in any full size floor safe and easily installs without interferring with the locking mechanisms or the swing of the door. This was my biggest concern when I purchased this item, however I was pleased when I learned it installs in less than 2 minutes and offers no interference. Great space saving item in my gun safe, a must have for anyone with handguns."

"Item looks good in the safe, makes for easy access to pistols. The only down-fall is hangers hit the partition and shelves in the safe. I was not able to use all 8 hangers supplied. I had to keep adjusting the hangers until I could get the door to close properly."

The Maximizer 16 gun rack,

"Bought this "hanging" rack system to replace some velcro holsters that I hand attached to the carpeting inside the door of my Liberty Centurion 23 gun safe. The system is a vast improvement over the holsters in that it is totally self supporting and does not rely on the loose door fabric to support the weight of valuable firearms. The construction of the door rack is welded and seems plenty strong for its purpose. The rod used in the rack is not as beefy as the pistol racks in my safe but again is sufficient. Installation was reasonably easy-drilled two 1/8" holes into top inside ledge of door and used the two supplied screws-they did need to be hammered in at first to get them to "self tap". The vinyl coating on the pistol brackets seems a little thin and I will have to keep an eye on it. The system has one major design flaw- the pistol brackets that very securely hang on the rack- are a full 2 and 5/8" deep. Even my large S&W N-frame revolvers sit at an angle against the door with over 1/2" excess space in the bracket. While this is not a bad thing (the guns are still very secure in the bracket) the unnecessarily deep brackets contact the shelf faces in the safe, keeping the door from closing! Careful placement of the brackets(guns) is required. Your safe may have the shelves set deeper in the safe and this may not be an issue- but I feel the brackets do not need to be so deep. All in all a very good product, but with a major limitation(there is no way I could use all sixteen brackets because of this)."
