Really bad ammo,November 22, 2009

"I have to totally agree with the previous reviewer CaptJess, every box the ammo has been dirty, covered with a spots of a tar like substance all over the casing, not just the neck. When fired (if it fires) it really fouls the chamber and bolt assembly (after 100-200 rounds) causing approximately every 5th round to stick and won't extract (fired from a Bushmaster AR-15, 20" Predator in 5.56, - not .223). The rifle does not jam when using other brands of ammo.
The rounds are extremely inconsistent, on some there seems to be almost no crimp, bullet is loose, or not aligned straight in the neck of the case (caused occasional feeding jams). Stopped using the ammo when the primers where too often being blown out/separating from the case (picking up my brass, surprised to see many cases did not have the primer still in - I don't know if the problem was poor crimp - more likely OVER-PRESSURE or powder measurement consistency). I didn't have any head separations but I stopped using it.
I will NEVER order this ammo ever again. The frustration of having a stuff case, clearing the chamber, firing 2 or 3 rounds - only to have another ammo problems is NOT worth any price saving."

"I found this ammo to be completely inconsistent with the overall favorable reviews. This ammo is made with used cases, many with dents and scratches. The ammo is exteremely dirty and cases have what appears to be a manufacturing mark (wax type substance) on the neck of each case that really gums up the works. Stay away from this ammo. From now on, I'm sticking with tried and proven Win and Hornady."

Great ammo for AR-15 w/12" twist,August 17, 2009

"This ammunition is very reasonably priced, well made, functions perfectly, and is very accurate in my early Colt AR-15 with 12" twist rifling. It is essentially military M193 ball, which is a 55gr solid point, 5.56mm NATO loading. This is more accurate than commercial 55gr .223 Remington solid point ammo since the Colt is actually chambered for 5.56mm NATO despite the .223 Rem. stamp on the receiver. BUT, one should not fire this or another other 5.56mm NATO ammo in a rifle actually chambered for .223 Rem. since it could result in excessive pressures - causing damage to the weapon and injury to the shooter."

"Exactly what I expected/paid for. Quality FMJ bulk ammo in good Lake City brass, no fancy polishing of the brass, annealing discoloration prominent. I worked thru 300 rnds, inspecting as I loaded mags, no obvious flaws. Same while shooting, power seemed consistent, accuracy had virtually no variance as long as I did my part. Casually aimed shots achieving a average grouping of, 50yrds, 2" & 100 yrds, 3-4".
Shot my S&W M&P 15X at 50-100yrds, using iron sights, A2 front post w/ Troy rear/folding BUIS.
Consistent & reliable ammo."
