and cuffs, and drawcords at the waist and hem work together to totally seal out rain. Inside is a nylon lining in the
lower body, sleeves and hood and a 50/50 polyester/CoolMax® lining in the upper body to wick away moisture. Extra 2" body, 1-1/2" sleeve length. Imported.

"I was a little alarmed at first at just how tall this parka was (I ordered the 'tall' version especially since I ride a lot of motorcycles, but soon found that I could undo the zip from the bottom (it has a double ended zip, -nice feature) which allows it to sit properly when straddling a bike seat. This aside the jacket is fantastic value, remaining lightr breathable and waterproof under a wide range of freezing and temperate weather. Hopefully will be using this jacket on many expeditions to come. Feels light and airy with the inner mesh layer too."

Good wind and rain protection,February 21, 2008

"Overall a good buy given its reduction in price after Christmas. It definitely will keep you dry and keep the wind off of you. Usually what we all look to Goretex to do. Annoyances: 1.) Hood is awarkard and interfers with a hat. A hat a good idea due to hood's shape and face overhang. 2.) Zipper starts either fine - or with great difficulty. No in between here. 3.) Color is fine. Red is a little brighter than expected. But, acceptable. 4.) Good addiitonal length in the long model. 5.) Good movement in the arms."

A hood cinch away from being 5 stars,September 17, 2007

"The best thing about getting this jacket is that it hasn't rained for months. Nothing like buying new rain gear to hasten global warming I guess. It finally did rain and I got a chance to try it out. The jacket itself is great, it kept me dry, has everything you need without a bunch of stuff that you don't. (Pit-zips are a good idea but I rarely use them and they let water in). The tall size has sleeves long enough for my orangutan like arms, it's a bit tall in the body for me but most "tall" sizes are. The thing that's maddening about this jacket is the hood. It is truly horrible. If it had not been so long since I got the jacket I'd seriously consider trading it for something else. The hood is very large and does not move with your head at all. I ended up pulling the stupid thing off and getting a wet head rather than deal with the lack of visibility. Every other rain jacket I've used has had a cinch on the back of the hood to take up the slack and help it move with your head, that's all this jacket needs."
