"The pad in conjunction with the vest were a perfect fit. The jolt on the shoulder was not as bad and at the end of the day I was less stiff."

"Recoil pad did not fit in Cabela's womens shooting vest, which made no since to me as they are both Cabela's brand. Looks to be a nice pad, but will have to use in one of my Browning jackets."

"I'm not recoil sensitive but thought I'd try a pad with my new vest. It works asd advertised. However, as my trap gun is cut to just the right length-of-pull for me, I didn't care for the added LOP the pad provided. Just set in my ways, I guess. So now I'm back to just my vest sans the pad. Hoewever, my wife loves it."

Saving my shoulder,

"I had shoulder surgery a few years back and need it again but don't want to go through the rehabilitation right now. I love to shoot, so I had been looking around for a reasonable cost alternative to an expensive shooting vest. So I purchased two Cabelas's shooting pads and had my wife sew them to an old fishing vest. It is amazing how they work absorbing the recoil from my Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 GA. And shooting my 20 Ga is like shooting a BB gun. Thanks Cabelas for delaying my shoulder surgery."

New, or newly acquired used gun not fitting yet, or testing the field gun at the range, this will help the shoulder felt recoil.
