"This works better than just the spring (hitchhiker type) but may not be worth the increased cost."

"I highly recommend this product. Plastic baits stay on very well. I have used Owner Hooks that come with the Twistlock CPS and they worked well with soft plastics.
I have bought competitor hooks with a stem with metal & plastic like barbs. None of these worked satisfactorily with soft plastic baits. Soft plastic baits came off the stem just by casting sometimes. I have clipped their stems off with wire cutters and replaced them with the Owner Centering Pin Spring.
I have used the small, medium, & large versions. I find the medium version works for most of my applications. I do have a need for the small version on some hooks. I fish for bass and at the coast, I fish for speckled trout and redfish. At the coast, I will use the small version for hooks I use with small paddle tails. The CPS Twistlocks make it handy to use pinch weights. The pinch weight on the main straight part of the hook allows the bait to move through the water without twisting, eliminating the need for a barrel swivel."
