"The Eagle Claw® Model 139 Snelled Hooks performed slightly better than I anticipated.
The reason for the purchase was the need for a super sharp angled hook with bait barbs that could perform in rugged stump conditions.
I was finshing evenings, and into the night and was unable to re-tied hooks, so the 139 was my choise. Eagle Claw has a very good, and dependable loop which is easy to swivel to in the dark.
The bait barbs increased my catch per bait ratio, as the bait (Crawlers) held tight on every cast. I could consistantly catch repeats on a single bait.
With the stumps and heavy weeds in the area, the sharp hooks held firm, and my success ratio was high.
My comments on Cabellas, and their products is you get what you pay for. Cabellas offers true tested products, and Eagle Claw will deliver results.
I give both Cabellas and Eagle Claw - 5 Stars = Excellent"

"I have been using Eagle Claw Snelled Hooks for years fishing for lake trout in Colorado. These hooks always are sharp and I have never had a problem when it comes to hook sets or with the monofillament. All of my fishing buddies use them."
