Excellent product,September 23, 2009

"Its ALOT bigger than it looks. First, the pads that are in the back of the back really support my back, theres plenty of room for tools, fly boxed, leader etc. I use this for fishing off the beach here in FLorida and I'm very happy with my purchase. Just keep in mind that if you are using this for saltwater you have to spray some wd-40 on the zippers so they don't corrode and eventually fail. Great pack at a great price!"

Cabela's River Guide™ X5 Waist Pack,September 18, 2009
By litlfeatfrom Owings Mills, MD
"Having purchased this waist pack for a wilderness fishing trip to Canada, I was generally pleased with the quality, amount of room for storage.
Being a small waist person, I did find it difficult to keep the waist pack from completely falling from my waist to the ground. It would be nice if a shoulder harness of some type would be included in the setup to prevent this from happening.
That being said, I ordered a shoulder strap from a custom strap company which I feel will make this waist pack stay where it belongs!
If purchasing this item you may want to consider doing likewise."

great pack.,September 11, 2009

"i purchased this pack two weeks ago and its great. went fly fishing in the eastern sierras, cal. walked up and down streams all weekend end and my pack handled all of my gear. lots of room for just about everything. if it didnt fit I didnt need it any way. it holds two large water bottles all of my fly boxes(and I have alot) room for my lunch,my rain gear and the small pouch is just awsome. the extra padding on the inside felt great on my back. the only draw back was the belt would loosen up a little but not a big deal and the zippers were a little tough to unzipp. other than that it is weel built and tough as nails, believe me I put it to the test. great product. thanks Cabelas."

Large Pack,September 9, 2009
By Brownsteelfrom Sanborn, NY
"If you're looking for a large lumbar pack this is the one. It has a tremendous amount of storage space in its main compartment. Almost too much. The detachable chest pack is a bit of a pain. It removes easily but is difficult and time consuming to reattach. The zippers are not very smooth and take some effort to move. The rain flap is conveniently placed underneath and will cover the entire pack quickly, keeping your gear dry. The rain flap almost falls into the category of overkill. After all we're in a wet environment and deploying a rain flap to keep gear dry is kind of counter productive. The quality of the construction is very good. It looks like a typical Cabela's product, well made and virtually bullet proof. The reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 was simply the size being too big, the chest pack and the zippers."

Good Waist Pack,June 22, 2009
By Beachflyfisher
"Have used this waist pack for almost a month now and I fish about three days a week here in Florida. It pretty well meets all my needs but I wish it had a larger zippered opening and an inner secured pocket for keys, phone and other valuables. I like the attached waterproof dry bags that attach to the belt. I keep my camera there and it makes for very convenient access. The large mesh holders on the side can handle large water bottles. I have used the detachable chest pack also. I wish the dry packs had a way to attach to the chest pack. You can put a lot of stuff in this waist pack and it carrys very comfortable."
