Cabelas River Guide chest vest,August 29, 2009
By LIHuntnFishfrom Long Island, NY
"Great chest pack for the money... You can put zingers in the two small front pockets or inside the pack on each side, then fish the clip through holes... now the zinger is protected and you dont catch anything on it, but you still have full access to the tool you decide to clip on.
Wide enough to carry the large fly boxes I use for saltwater flyfishing for stripers....
The pack needs to have some more interior pockets built in, as it is designed there are two main chambers, with one waterproof bag. Adding some built in pockets would allow you to organize small items better and keep them from falling out.
The pack is a little too big, which is to say it sticks out too far from your chest... especially at the top. I keep a heavy duty safety pin attatched to the top and pin it to the backside of the pack, which helps compress things... only bad thing is I have to un-do the clip every time I want to access whats inside the pack.
Good pack for the $, but could be better.... 5 stars if they made the changes I mentioned."

good gear holder, kind of hot,August 11, 2009
By BirdHunterStevefrom Washington State
"I like how comfortable this is when you reverse it while hiking. You don't even know it's there. Then for in the water it rides high so it stays dry and is a good working height.
Lots of storage and fly boxes fit neatly in the elasticized internal pockets. Zippers seem to be good quality.
If you haven't used this style it takes a little getting used to. Don't buy it if you have the functionality/fit of a waist pack in mind.
In cooler weather this will be perfect. I used it on a 100 degree day and it was hot...but then so was everything else."
