Only while fishing,August 4, 2009
By vthntr33from Berkshire, Vermont
"I tried this product on my Mad River 14" plastic canoe. I was going to Maine striper fishing on the ocean. The included canoe brackets were worthless, didn't fit the canoe at all and couldn't be used. I used the kayak brackets included, located and drilled them so as not to interfere with paddling from the middle or rear. (alone or with a partner) The brackets ended up keeping the pontoons out a bit too high from the water for a canoe as they were designed for a kayak. I had new T-6 aluminum shafts made at a local machine shop to lengthen the outrigger pontoon shafts to sit a bit lower,(price 20.00). I found that this unit was not meant to be used at all while paddling because the pontoons constantly turned and caused drag. if you put the outrigers up while paddling and only used them while stationary the were a wonderful help to stabilize the canoe, you could stand and cast with no worries. Nowhere in the instructions does it tell you not to leave them out while paddling. Extending the outriggers required shifting your weight to not stress the arms of the outrigger. It was quite a struggle to extend a retract the outriggers every time you found a spot you wanted to fish. I would not reccommend this product to anyone, sorry."

Bad Knockoff,April 1, 2009
By stealerfrom WI
"These floats are a bad knock off of Spring Creek Outfitters Stabilizer floats. They copied their float (and not well), frame and are even using Spring Creeks words to describe their products. Innovated Outdoor Solutions is not innovative in the slightest for copying this product. If you want a well made MN product and wonderful customer service, then don't buy these. Buy the Spring Creek Floats."

Wave Armor Canoe/Kayak Stabilizer Kit,March 30, 2009
By cap208from nj
"Workmanship and material quality is good. The main cross bar is only thirty inches wide. My canoe is 42 inches wide. cabelas cat said it was 42. I contacted the mfg. and they said they would send a longer bar in around 2 weeks. when I didn't receive it I called again. Now they say 2 months. This item would be great for a kayak or a narrow canoe."

Good product,March 30, 2009
By NYCanoerfrom New York
"I do like the floats. The product is well made but it is mailnly for kayaks. Good engineering and adequate mounting are a plus.
It would be better if they had a 40" center section for canoes. I need the extra width to properly mount the floats in the center of my canoe. I have spoken to the company about this oversight and they said they would get back to me. It is well worth money but those with canoes need to be aware that the 30" center section will limit the placement of the floats."
