"I was slow to warm up to the Momentum line over my Big Game's. The LT is a brute of a reel, that not only dropped some weight, but looks better than it's big brother! The drag could stop a speeding truck, and is just as smooth as my loved Big Games. These are great new reels that are a home run for Ross! I have the #4 and #6, and have used them both in fresh and salt water. In salt, just rinse them in fresh water after you are done fishing."

"The Ross Momentum LT Fly Reels are the answer to stopping powerful fish. I brought the Momentum LT’s on a recent peacock bass trip to the Amazon and they performed beautifully. The initial run of a peacock is as powerful as any species on earth and when you hook numerous in a day most reels seize up or the spools warp! The new Ross Momentum LT Reels can handle these fish indefinitely! These reels are awesome!"

My new favorite reels!,April 3, 2009

"Let me start by saying that I don't baby my equipment. If If can't hold up under the rigors of saltwater fishing, I'll know quickly, and I realize that it's just not for me. I recently used the Momentum LT 4 and 5 on a Bonefish trip to Los Roques. After spending a bunch of time and money to get there, the last thing I needed was a reel failure. The LT's performed flawlessly! The drag was perfect. Very smooth start up, and it was consistent weather the fish was 50 feet, or 50 yards away. The drag adjustment was easy to use, and it stayed where it was set. As I said... I don't baby the gear. I didn't have a chance to rinse down the reels, and even after 5 days in the salt, not a problem. The same smooth drag. The outbound click sound was music to my ears! The backing capacity is as it should be... not to much, not to little. These reels balance the rod very well and they look sharp too. My new favorite! My next purchase will be the 7 and 8 for Tarpon and Sails. Compare these reels to others costing a lot more. I glad that I did. Thanks Ross."
