Our top-of-the-line L-Tech fly rods are among the lightest and most powerful on the market. Best of all, high-
tech performance is available at a price no other rods in their class can touch. The L-Tech's innovative design required
us to think outside the box. One look tells you these are not like any other fly rods. One cast will tell you the same. The
primary goal was to reduce all unnecessary weight. During the design process, everything that could go is gone,
leaving only a rod in its most pure and elite form. The exposed-blank reel seat is crafted of high-grade machined
aluminum with a bronze finish and a techy look worthy of the design. The seat has two sections. The hood fits up into
the cork handle. The threaded barrel section encloses the butt end of the blank. This eliminates the unnecessary weight
of the middle insert. The bond with the blank remains as strong as conventional reel seats. The up-locking
Delrin® ring
ensures the locking nut will snug the reel securely into place. A proprietary blend of IM6, IM7 and IM8 graphite achieves
a balance between line-zipping fast action and lightweight strength. It flawlessly transfers energy between the
backcast and forward cast, propelling line to your target with accuracy and sizzling speeds. L-Tech rods incorporate
REC Recoil stripper guides made of nickel titanium alloy for added weight reduction and durability. Recoil guides always
return to their original shape, won't corrode and are 50% lighter than other types of stripper guides. The remaining rod
guides are a combination of titanium carbide double-foot snake guides and tip top. Includes rod tube. 25-year Limited
Warranty.

Cabela's L-Tech 908-4, The BASS-SLAYER!,August 27, 2009
By Zugbugzfrom Avondale, AZ
"First off, I'm a die-hard Sage guy (I like Loomis too), but I like to keep an open mind, and enjoy a bargain, especially when it comes to good fly tackle. I was seriously considering buying one of Sage's Bass fly rods (the Largemouth model) for plying the bass waters here in AZ. Quite honestly, I was reluntant to pay Sage's price, especially for what I considered a not-so-top-of-the-line fly rod. To make a longer story a shorter one, I checked out and bought a Cabela's L-Tech instead, in the 4-piece, 8 weight model. Wow, what a great rod this is! The price was outstanding for a rod that I consider to be worthy of the moniker, "Top-Of-The-Line!" The ONLY thing that could possibly improve it would be to make it available in the 7'11" length of Sage's bass rods, which would make it tournament legal. At that length, and the price Cabela's asks, it would be an unstoppable force! Even at the longer length, I love this rod - it throws an 8 weight line beautifully (I use the SA Mastery Bass and a Rio "Deep Six" type 6, 8 wt sinking line for bass) and the rod has the heft of a 5 or 6 weight. It tosses my bass bugs, bunny leaches, clousers, and crawdad flies with much less effort than my old Sage DS2 8 weight can, and muscles in good size bass with authority. I mention this because casting an 8 wt all day can lead to a very sore arm the next day, and this rod is much easier on the arm than the old Sage is. I also have a Rio Grand #8 line that I will be using with it for Steelhead and Salmon - it works perfectly with that line as well. If this rod was a Sage or Loomis, it could easily sell for $600-700 dollars, that's how good it is. It also has some really nice hardware, especially for the price. The REC Recoil strippers and Ti snake guides are great and help keep it super light at 3.4 oz. The only complaint on the Recoils is they are a little noisy when you strip the line through them, some lines more than others. The cork is of great quality (the peppered rings look cool too) and that exposed blank reel seat simply screams bassing. The workmanship is as good or better than the big names. All I can say is check it out - it looks cool, feels right and fishes great. If you're like me and love top-level equipment, but also can't pass up a bargain, you'll love this rod! Cabela's if you're listening, offer this rod in the 7'11" bass tournament length; it will be a better, much lighter rod than Sage's bass rods and you will sell a ton of them! That aside, this rod is a work of art already and highly recommended!"
"This is a great rod for the money. It is a very good balance of stiffness and flexibility. It's weight is a great advantage for a guy like me; 60 years old and a problem shoulder. It handles 70 plus ft of line without collapsing. I recommend it without reservation."

rod is a hit,May 11, 2009
By bigdan22from Yardley, Pa.
"The first time I used the l-tech fly rod was when my fly fishing club held its annual fly fishing clinic on the Little Lehigh River in Allentown, Pa. Several members tried the rod and were impressed by its light weight and smooth casting. From the first time I used it, it was clearly superior to much more expensive rods."

So far, So good,April 4, 2009
By PikeEChicagofrom North Side, Chicago, IL
"As a cabelas product, you know at the very least have a good warrenty with it. The new 908-4 L-tech sold me with its flashy look and amazing weightlessness ((3.4 oz)). It casts amazing, the REC Recoil stripper guides helps guide the line smoothly out. Coming from casting mid range sage's and high end st croix's, all I said on the first delivery was "whoa." I am not yet entirely sold it's durablity, will handle a massive fish??? Yesterday it passed the test on 3 to 5 pound smallmouth, with the rare yellow bullhead taken on the fly. I will write my second review of this rod when I land a big pike on it next month. The review up to this point....buy it."

8wt L-Tech Fly Rod,April 1, 2009
By DenBehrfrom Linden, Michigan
"Tried this rod out on steelhead and had no complaints. Feels very light - you will think you are fishing a 7wt. I will have to shoot a streamer into the wind for Atlantics before I fully rate this rod, but so far I'm pleased."

L Tech 905-4 fly rod,March 23, 2009
By Scout172from Naples, FL
"My 9 foot 5 weight was delivered today. WOW, this rod exceeds my expectations! Quality control seems to be excellent with all the Cabela's brand products I've ever bought, and this rod is no different. Fit and finish is absolutely flawless. The glossy moss green blank looks exceptional, and the rod is an absolute featherweight in my hand. The fast action is perfect for a broad range of trout fishing situations. I love it and am happy I didnt spend 3 times as much for the same performance!"

Great Rod!,March 2, 2009
By DeadDrift801from Bluffdale, Utah
"My wife recently bought me the L-Tech/RLS Fly reel combo. Wow! What a great feeling rod/reel combo. Took it out for the first time on Saturday and although we fished tough conditions I was able to break it in on 6 Browns, 3 whitefish, and I even foul hooked a 7lb sucker fish. The rod performed flawlessly! Great feel! My buddy fishes a Sage rod, he tried mine and simply said "I should have waited for this one to come and and I could have saved alot of money!" Thanks Cabelas for yet another great product. This one is a keeper!"
