"I've used these for two years and fish that will chase topwater plugs crush the poppers. You can just pop them or walk the dog. Most of my success has come on the menhaden and pogie colors. I don't think colors matter much. The lure and the action imparted is the draw. I didn't give them 5 stars because the hooks need upgrading."

"usually fish pencil poppers or jigs/swimbaits. And I've never really liked fishing pencil poppers. That's just what everyone here in the Montery Bay seems to fish. But I've never even had a strike on a pencil popper, so I decided to try something new. Just bought one of these from Cabelas and fished it tonight... wow. I was able to cast this bait at least 10-15 yards farther than a pencil popper. And the action was amazing. I could walk the dog, pop it slow & subtle, or jerk it hard for some big action. Didn't catch any striper, but I fooled two pelicans!"

"last summer a friend showed me this bait for topwater wipers...it is a necessity if you are throwing into a 30 mph wind to reach those fish...handles great against 10+lb wipers, but the paint comes off fairly easy...try it out against those big fish"

"Blue fish love these easy to cast lures. But blues are so ferocious they destroyed the middle hook and ripped out the rear hook. Took off the middle hook and put a single hook in the rear. Worked well."

"I love this popper! It casts a mile, it floats, has great action and definitely catches fish! Several days at the beach when the stripers wouldn't hit anything else and no one was catching anything, I put on a green talkin popper and nailed 6 stripers. I also missed about 6 more! The finish is good and the hooks are strong. It looks like real bait in the water, but watch out because it fools the seagulls too."
