Fish Cat Streamer XL-IR,August 29, 2009
By ddubyafrom Brandon, Manitoba Canada
"I have used my 8' Fish Cat for two seasons of lake fishing, my wife also has one. We have found that they are easy to assemble after you have done it a few times and we have had no product failures at all. We stack them in the back of the truck and they are light enough that we can unload them easily. The XL-IR came with motor mounts and we outfitted ours with trolling motors. They track well if you travel backwards, forwards any wind will continually swing you off track. Just turn the head of your trolling motor 180 degrees and you are set to go. They are easy to move around with flippers, and that makes for a great fishing platform. The one item that could be improved is the stripping apron. It is too flat and the sides are too short, the wind can blow your fly line off easily. The mesh rear platform works well, it holds a large battery no problem with room for another tackle box or dry bag. I sold my boat after i got these, just didn't use it much any more."

Not a boat for rivers,August 13, 2009
By tbgravesfrom Gig Harbor, WA
"I took this boat down the Deschutes River in OR last week and was not impressed. Design flaws were the main problem. The anchor pully sat so low the anchor couldn't get out of the water. The oars are fixed so you have no ability to pull them in or rotate the blades. That is, until they come out of their holders with a few hard pulls and become loose and can slide out if you're not careful. After a few hours, the oars started to squeek like a pig with each pull too.
Maybe the boat would be good for flat water where there's no leverage being put on it, but if you're just floating around, you don't need to spend this kind of money for Outcast's uber pontoons.
I gave it 3 stars because it did function fine, but not a boat that will hold up when put to the test. There are definately better boats out there for the money. Mine is going back."
