Noise and slow,September 21, 2009
By SnugHarborfrom Muskegon, Mich
"Other reviews complain of excessive winch noise. The noise comes from the black rope pulley steel sleeve. The sleeve is a cheap "seamed" sleeve and it catches on the through bolt on every revolution. Take out the sleeve, drill the bracket to a 1/2" hole. Buy a 1/2" x 5" bolt and nylon lock nut and throw out the steel sleeve and suppled bolt. This a powered down and up winch and is quite slow. Pull up toque is good and no need to break the anchor lose first before power winching up."

tRAC 45 BIG WATER,August 19, 2009
By kenwmfrom Westlock Alberta
"Easy to install but failed on the 3rd day of use, the quick release stopped working , then when travelling across the lake it let go and the anchor slammed in to the side of the boat damaging the hull, i had a 28lb navy anchor on it, after that it would not hold the anchor at all. To small of a motor on it,"

Wench Operation,July 20, 2009
By rgjnacfrom East Texas
"This wench is too difficult to operate because the switch does not engage the drive quickly and sometimes requires multiple attempts to get it to engage. I also do not like the way that it must free wheel all the way to the bottom of the lake before stopping. Probably my fault for not understanding more about the way many electric wenches work before purchasing. I have a smaller version from another manufacturer on the front of my pontoon boat, and it seems to work much more simply."

great addition,July 14, 2009
By ruslerfrom large lake in canada that doesn't freeze
"I am able to pull up to that perfect fishing hole in the current ,,,deploy the winch & anchor from my seat ,,,,drift back and let just the right amount of line out ,,,,then lock it there and be fishing immediately,, in the past i had to go to the upper deck from my captains chair & hopefully the boat would be where i wanted it then throw the anchor out ,tie it off ,,return to the main deck and usually by that time some other dope was snagged up & away I would go to pull anchor ,, Life has never been so good ,, so far it works great & I think it will last long after my fishing days are over."

I needed a way to anchor stern of airboat,July 6, 2009
By Bamaguyfrom Central Alabama
"I have a home built airboat and was having a tough time trying to anchor the stern or rear of the boat. I decided to try an anchor winch so Iwouldn't have to work my way around the safety cage and do it manually. When my wife and fishing partner discovered what I was about to do she said she wasn't going to be pulling an anchor the hard way while I simply pressed a button. Needless to say I have two Trac Anchor winches mounted on the boat, and I love them. They are nearly silent and work like a dream. I even mounted both switches at my driver seat so she doesn't even need to press a button!"

Wish I had bought one sooner,June 29, 2009
By DaBeerGeekfrom U.P. of Michigan
"The Trac anchor winch works exactly as described. No more leaning over the bow to tie off or cold, wet and tired hands from repeated raising and lowering of anchor. It hardly uses any power as I used it repeatedly the last few times out and the battery was recharged to 100% in no time. I wish I had bought one a lot sooner. I highly recommend it."

Anchor Winch,April 7, 2009
By 28BowPeEp31from NC
"I have really enjoyed my anchor winch. It's nice to be able to drop my anchor without having to leaving the steering console area and walking to the front of the boat to drop the anchor after killing the engine. It's so nice to start the engine and pull the anchor without having to climb back to the bow to pull the anchor and this makes it safer also."
