Comfortable when being splashed,

"I bought these to use on a marathon canoe event that involved paddling up to ten hours a day. There was no way to avoid getting the pants wet (dripping from paddle, wading during launch, etc). The pants dry relatively quickly, and were very comfortable. I feel they also protect against sunburn."

"Purchased these a couple of weeks ago and used them on a recent fishing trip down theTrinity river. Cool in the morning so the full length pants were perfect. Hot in the afternoon so removed the pants legs and enjoyed the shorts feature. Good quality and perfect for this application. One note: Order one size larger and it will be a better fit."

An OK pair of pants,

"I like the material used for these pants and they are a good choice for SC summer days. The material is smooth so the pants tends to slide down in the front if I don't keep my belt tight. I wish that the two belt loops in the front were closer to the zipper so that the front of the pants would not slide down so often. My second issue involves the zipper on each leg. These zippers are stiffer than the zippers on my Columbia pants, consequently, the Cabela's zippers cause my pants to stand out rather than fall flat. I would also appreciate some cargo pockets."

"I see that the size discrepancy is well documented and addresed by Cabelas...couple more things.
These are designed as HOT weather pants, not to wear under waders.
Why would you narrow the legs and then add zippers so that you can make up room (to remove footwear?) for the lower leg restriction?They zip OFF already.
I see that they are on sale....hope that means changes are coming.
I work in these....the old pants have lasted for years...these will not.
Zippers are fragile...seams are unravelling...belt loops are anemic ....not what Guidewear Supplex has meant to us in the past.
LASTLY: they do not wrinkle like the shirts....so go figure."

"The pants fit perfectly, and performed well. I fished the gulf coast, we were wade fishing, they protected my legs from jelly fish, and man o war cruising by, which always get you if you are wearing shorts. They are also comfortable around the house, yard and hiking."

Pants Worked Well in Boundary Waters,

"I wore these pants right oout of the box on a canoeing trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area on the Minnesota/Ontario border. The waist is elasticized so if the size is close to your measurements, you'll be fine. Side zippers allowed easy on/off over boots/sandals. They dry quickly and were perfect in the evenings for bug control and taking care of the chill in the early mornings"

Good pants, not cheap,

"I bought a pair of these last year, and they held up well. They are very lightweight and dry extremely fast. As they are nylon, they are smooth but not overly soft (like a good cotton). They have lots of pockets and are comfortable to wear. I seem to just wear them as shorts (I live in a hot climate in the summer)), so unless you really need long pants, you might consider just buying the shorts version."

"As a long time purchaser of these pants I have seen several changes. I miss the cargo pockets and the small velcro pockets. It is the coolest and most lightweight material I have found. It delivers as advertised. I do wish there were more color choices. I still have the first pair I bought over ten years ago."

"When the days are hot and the nights are cool, having these pants allows me to be comfortable. Also when I am packing for a trip, they allow me to take only one pair of pants instead of pants and shorts. I respond to disasters with the American Red Cross and space is limited, these pants allow me to pack all of the essentials that I need. Thanks so much"

"I wear 44-46 size pants. I order this size and they would fit 36 inch men. I reorder the next size up, still to small,so I reorder the next size up 50 and they fit. The pants work and feel fine ,just are very much under sized!"
