"Great tool! I have been fishing the same lake for 20 plus years. With this unit I learned more about the lake in 2 days than I have learned in 20 years . Side imaging helped me find structure in 70 plus feet of water, where I normaly don't fish, that produced fish. Took a trip to a lake that I had never fished, with the combination of Navionics , side imaging and fish finder I had no problem finding and catching fish. The unit is easy to see in direct sun light and from any place in the boat. I think this unit is a must have tool for any fishing boat."

Still Issues with SI, July 1, 2009

"I have had my unit for 2 months and have yet to have it operate correctly. The SI goes dark at 20+ foot depths and I know of several other owners that have the same issue. The unit was returned to HB but the analysis says there isn't anything wrong. Apparently the rocks and sand bottoms are not hard enough to get a bright clear picture. If you are fishing under 20 Feet then you will love this unit. Unfortunately I intended on using the Side Imaging to locate deep structure in 20+ feet of water.

The GPS works OK but you may not like it if you are used to Lowrance GPS function.

The 2D sonar works great but as I said this is not why I spent the extra money.

I don't know of the same problem with the 900 or 1100 series units so that may be the way to go if you have the $$ or wait for the competitions version out soon."
