Experience the color you've been missing. Cabela's XPG N-Series flashlights feature an exclusive Ultra Definition
Illumination (U.D.I.) LED chipset that combines the intense, color-accurate output of high-pressure xenon lamps with
the lower operating temperatures and long-running efficiency of LEDs. These specialized LEDs emit light only in
specific color spectrums, delivering a high-intensity beam that reveals true target colors. Cabela's engineering partners
packaged this cutting-edge technology into these rugged, field-ready flashlights. The high-intensity, 3700°
Kelvin LED chipset has a detail-defining Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 80 out of 100. This CRI rating indicates a
superior true-color light source. All electronics are housed inside an O-ring-sealed chamber for complete moisture
protection. The precision-molded textured nylon body provides a durable, comfortable all-weather grip. The two-
stage tailcap switch positively clicks between high and low light modes. By twisting the tailcap, the light is instantly
disabled for no-flash safety. Pre-focused machined aluminum reflector with tempered glass lens.

Proved itself in combat,August 21, 2009
By fltsrgnfrom ARSIC-N Afghanistan
"I bought this light as an affordable backup to my SureFire lights. When my SureFire M3 trashed both its bulbs, and replacement was weeks away (4-6 at best), I strapped my XPG-9 to my M4 and off we went. Its survived MRAP'S, HUMVEE's, dust, heat, and whatever else Afghanistan could throw at it. Shot a ton of rounds thru my weapon with the light attached, and it still works fine. And its still there, since I'm rotating back in a few weeks, and I dont want to burn out any more Surefire bulbs (too expensive), and the XPG is working fine. Is it as good as my SureFire, no, but for the price, it is a great back up, and its going in my truck as soon as I get home. And I'll most likely get a second one and stick it in my back pack."

Not quite what I expected, but....,May 1, 2009
By Archer33Xfrom Minneapolis, MN
"I'd been looking for a new flashlight, and liked the specs on these and decided to give it a try. Like another reviewer mentioned, the "natural high definition light" description was a little misleading. This light does produce a yellow-tinted beam like a regular incandescent bulb, which I wasn't quite expecting.
So I compared this beam side by side with an LED powered light and a conventional incandescent light (both relatively high-end units) - the LED definitely had a blue-tinted light, the incandescent was visibly yellow, and the Cabelas XPG-N had a slightly less-yellow tint. But the XPG-N had a very tightly focused beam - moreso than either of the lights I was comparing it to.
When I took the three lights outdoors to compare the range, the other lights washed out a bit after 40-50 yards. The tightly focused beam of the XPG-N was still a concentrated beam out to the hillside 100 yards away!
When I switched the light from "High" to "Low", the beam remained just as tightly focused, but at a much lower output. That makes it much more friendly to your eyes when they've adapted to the darkness, or when you don't want to blind your camping buddies.
I find the High/Low settings add to the versatility, and the long run-time is great for getting as much out of the CR123 batteries as possible. And I'm VERY pleased with the amount of light this flashlight generates. It won't flood the entire room with light, but whatever you want to illuminate is definitely going to be lit up!
So the color of light produced from this little flashlight wasn't quite what I expected, but I'm very happy with its performance and versatility!
I'm planning to put one of these in my car, my wife's car, and carry one with me in my camping and hunting gear. It's a lot of light for the price!"

XPG N-Series LED flashligt,April 21, 2009
By GoUtesfrom Utah Utes!!
"I LOVED this light. I bought it for my husband and ended up keeping it for myself. I used it when the power went out. The yellow light is what makes it so terrific. I was able to see where the kids toys were and not trip on them. It actually kept us safer because we could see so MUCH in the room and not trip around. I took it outside with the dogs and I could see through my trees and keep track of the dogs even in the bad weather. It was an incredible light to use indoors and out. My husband will have to buy his own light. I am going to have to buy one to put in my car. This was a great purchase!! Maybe soon you'll come out with pink ones. Thanks Cabela's, you guys are the best."

Would not recommend,April 14, 2009

"The good thing about this light is that it takes the CR123's as a power source. The run time is excellent on this light. The thing I do not like is the yellow looking light source. This Ulta High Definition discription is misleading in my opinion. Other light sources carried by some of my coworkers are much better. The stream light brand (The large head L.E.D. type) is truly the one to have. It has a powerful focused white beam of light."

XPG-N review,April 11, 2009
By XPGRaterfrom Michigan
"I purchased this flashlight in the four cell model and will tell you that I was very disappointed with this light. I have returned the light for a refund.
I have bought several good quality lights (Streamlight, Surefire, and XPG) from Cabela's in the past and have been very satisfied with their performance and overall quality. Not so with this light. I admit that I don't use this light for hunting so maybe the "natural light tone" is not what I'm looking for. However, my experience with this light is that is displays an old-style yellowish beam that parallels the light output of an old 2-D cell flashlight with an incandescent bulb. You don't need to spend this kind of money for a flashlight that compares in performance to the old plastic Eveready flashlight your grandfather had. This flashlight has nowhere near the quality of performance and craftsmanship that you'd expect from Cabela's. In my opinion, Cabela's needs to spend a bit more time and effort researching their flashlights before offering them in their catalogs. This is one light that just doesn't measure up to their usual high quality."
