"Let me start off by saying this is my first review but I hope you find it helpful. This reel is excellent. I have a low profile Shimano Citica D (Older model of citica) and another Cabela's spinning reel. I only used the Citica for bass and wanted another reel for trolling for walleye. I saw this reel with a pole and had to have it. It can really bring in the fish. Now, I must say one thing. I've never owned a round reel and wasn't used to the line guide moving with the cast. Mine makes a little bit of a buzzing noise when I cast but it is acceptable."

"Musky fished with this reel straight out of the box. Very few backlashes after I set the brake properly. Worked great with 80# Stren Super Braid. Used it for two straight weeks every day, and no problems. Will probably pick up a 6600 as well."

"I used this reel all last year 2008 for catfish. After the break in the reel handle like a dream. Very smooth cast, distants, and retreive. During the fight it responded the way I would expect a Great reel to do. I plan on buying two more this year."
