"I bought this PFD on sale a few months ago when I found out I was going on a long canoe trip. Since I'm a bigger than average person, I needed a size normally not carried by the local sporting goods stores. When I saw Cabela's carried 3x and 4x sized PFDs, I jumped. I'm glad I did. This particular PFD provides me full range of motion for both paddling as well as spin casting. Since I've not taken a dip in the water, I can't comment on how well it works for flotation. :-)
I've since ended up buying my own canoe and have used it many times. I've had no issues and find the quality of workmanship good."

"My family has purchased numerous Sit-on-top kayaks. Several members are larger than average. This vest comes in 3XL and is very comfortable. Before, those of us that could barely get an XL vest on, didn't always wear one. Now we all wear a Personal Flotation Device all the time while kayaking. Works well and very affordable."

"This is an excellent device for the price and that's why I gave it 4 starts. Had it been more expensive, I would have been disappointed. I can tell you though, if you are going to use it for fishing, it's too bulky to be comfortable while casting from a boat. Also, I have a 31" waist and a 42" chest. I'm not big at all around the belly and not small in the chest and it still fit a little strange. It was loose in the chest, because of the mesh and then tight in the midsection. If you loosen the midsection, since there is nothing to grip your chest, it will rise up and catch you around the neck a little. We fish large ponds and small lakes and I tether myself to flotation device made to expand when submerged. We just keep the two vests in the boat to meet state regulations. In the event that a guest would want to wear one, the we have useable ones.
I would recommend them as a back up. If you plan on wearing it all the time, then spend more and get a better one.
